Stop This Madness

1302 Words
Danny's POV "Let me go!" I screamed, my voice cracking over the thumping bass of the club. I tried to pull away, but his grip only tightened, digging into my sensitive, bruised skin. "Get your hands off me! You are not my father!" Chadwick stopped dead in the middle of the sidewalk, the cold night air hitting us like a bucket of ice water. He leaned down, his face a mask of terrifying, frozen calm. "Exactly," he hissed, his voice a low vibration that made my skin crawl. "And I have no bloody intention of ever being your father, Danny. Thank you for snapping me out of this madness." He shoved me into the passenger seat of his car and slammed the door. The silence inside the car was thick and suffocating, smelling of expensive leather and his gin. "I am twenty!" I barked, my courage flaring up as he pulled into the traffic. "I am an adult. It's not even late, this is just 9:00PM.You can't just come in here and drag me out like a kid. You aren't even my stepfather. And eventually you do become my stepfather, you still have no right over me." Chadwick didn't even look at me. His knuckles were white on the steering wheel, his jaw set so tight it looked like it might snap. "You left the house without a word," he said, his voice flat. "You kept your mother worried sick, while you were acting like a common w***e in a f*****g gay club." "Yes I am gay and so what! You may be gay too, Mr Chad!" I spat, slumping against the window. He didn't say another word. He just turned on the music, increasing his speed on the road. When we got back to the house, my mum was waiting in the living room, her face pale with worry. The second I walked in, she exploded, yelling at me for my recklessness. I waited for Chadwick to jump in. I waited for the growl, the threat, the heat or whatever he was cooking up. But Chadwick just stood there. He looked bored. He didn't even look at me as he placed a comforting hand on my mother's shoulder. He acted like I was just a piece of furniture. Dinner was a slow-motion nightmare. I sat across from them, my ass still stinging against the chair. My heart thumping with a weird, desperate need for Chadwick to just look at me. But Chadwick only talked to my mum. They discussed the floral arrangements and the seating chart. I was invisible. A ghost. The rest of the night was a blur of hollow silence. After the disastrous dinner, we all retreated upstairs. There were no secret whispers in the hallway, no lingering look, no insults. I watched as Chadwick followed my mother into the room, the door clicking shut with a finality that made my chest ache. Chadwick will be her husband after all. I sighed and walked into my own room, alone. The next morning, the sun was too bright. I dragged myself out of bed, my body stiff and my head aching so bad from the alcohol I had. I pulled on a pair of loose sweats and shuffled downstairs, the smell of Chadwick's coffee hitting me like a physical blow. My mum and Chadwick were already at the small breakfast table, the perfect couple. My mum was glowing, already buzzing about the big day, while Chadwick sat in a crisp grey sweater, listening to my mum yap about all of it. He honestly looked so in love. "Morning, Danny," my mum chirped, barely looking at me. "Eat up. I have to head out in ten minutes to meet the florist at the venue. There's a million things to do before the wedding." I sat down, the chair pressing against my sore backside. Chadwick's eyes remained fixed on my mum, his face lit up in a genuine smile as my mum kept chattering with him. He pushed a plate of dry toast toward me without a word, his movements cold and mechanical. He acted like I was a stranger he had accidentally shared a table with. Ten minutes later, the front door slammed. My mum pulled out of the driveway, leaving the house in a sudden, heavy silence. My heart started thumping. Finally. With my mother gone, Chadwick would make another move with me. I felt my heart leaped a little with joy. I expected Chadwick to turn to me, to growl about the club or to resume intense biology lessons. But Chadwick stood up, cleared his own plate, and walked toward his study without a single glance at me. I felt a weird, hollow desperation. What exactly is going on with him? I tried to recall last night, if I said anything offensive. But I couldn't pick on any exact thing, because I did say a lot. I grabbed my phone and video-called Gabriel. "Dude, you okay?" Gabriel's voice popped up. "Wasn't that our professor at the club?" I nodded, leaning against my bedroom door. "He's the one marrying my mum, remember? We didn't get to talk last time. The thing is, I sucked Chadwick's c**k and uhm...he had done things to me too.." I blurted out, waiting for Gabriel's response. Gabriel's jaw dropped. "What?..No way..Tell me you are lying to me, Dan. You just want to prank me right?" Gabriel laughed out hysterically. But my face remained rigid, he looked at me again. "What aren't you joking? Whattt?! His voice rose an octave. "I will explain things better when we resume, Gabe. Right now, it's all messed up." "Well, don't sleep with him for free," Gabriel blurted out, "He should pay you for it okay, remember the money first," he chuckled. I hung up the call on him. This was one of the moments I desperately needed a serious friend, but unfortunately I didn't have that. I couldn't take the silence anymore. I walked down the hall and knocked on Chadwick's door. It opened just a crack. Chadwick stood there, looking down at me, his eyes like chips of ice. "I... I had a question about biology lessons," I lied, my voice small. "Since we were alone....." "There won't be any more private lessons, Danny," Chadwick said, his voice as sharp as a razor. "When lectures resume, I will have my assistant tutor you. I am far too busy for now." I nodded, clicking the door shut. I stood in the dark hallway, heartbroken. I had been discarded like trash. I mean I had always been discarded like trash, but this felt too different. An hour later, my mum came back briefly to grab some paperwork. I heard her voice echoing in the hallway, but I didn't bother to go check, I lay on my bed completely drained. Minutes later, a sound echoed. "Mhmmm! Urghh!" It was my mum's voice. I crept out of my room, drawn to my mum's room. My intentions of going there weren't clear to me yet. I was just driven by a sickening curiosity. Their door was slightly opened. I leaned in, peeping through the crack. My stomach did a somersault. My mum was pinned to the bed, her back to the door. And Chadwick was behind her, raw and violent, slamming into her with a primal relentless pace. Suddenly, Chadwick's head lifted. His dark eyes, locked directly onto mine through the silver of the door. He knew I was there. I was sure he had left the door open on purpose. He curled into a triumphant smirk. He didn't break eye contact with me. He gripped her hips tighter, his knuckles digging into her skin, and increased his pace. "Fuckkk.....yes...!" he moaned, his voice a deep, guttural vibration that echoed down the hallway.
