Chapter NineInto the Lion’s Den A loud, rumbling sound filled Barlo’s ears and shook his body. His eyes popped open as he awoke with a start. The rumbling stopped. He whipped his head around, but Iarion and Lodariel were lost in sleep on the sand beside him. Golhura blinked at him from where she was curled up a few feet away. The only sound was the dull splashing of the waves lapping against the shore. Huh. I must have been snoring. At least the others were too tired to notice.
