Chapter ThirteenA Goddess’s Wrath Barlo pumped his short legs, running as fast as he could manage behind the fleeing rebels and his elf companions toward the edge of the jungle. Golhura loped at his side. He coughed, stirring a cloud of dust from his beard. For all his bluster a few moments before, he had been just as surprised as anyone when the explosion had rocked the city wall. His ears were still ringing, and his legs wobbled beneath him.
