Chapter 6-02Typical Michael, always using their kids to blackmail her, she had no doubt he knows that she knew he sent Fish, and is now trying to get her home, for fear she might try to run away. The waterworks had started already and she sniffed, unable to hold herself anymore.
“Please Sasha,” Michael begged, “come home.”
Sasha sniffed once more and hung up, wiping away her tears, she started the car and reversed into the street, then she drove back home. As she drove into the gate, she saw Michael standing on the porch, she stopped with her headlights on him, he was looking vulnerable and she hates how her heart feels seeing him like that when in truth he is the one straining things between them. He didn’t try to avert his eyes from the lights and at the end, she felt bad for him and lowered it, then drove and parked in front of him. Heaving a sigh, she killed the engine and grabbed her bag.
She climbed out of the car and walked around it to the porch, she intended to walk past him but he grabbed her wrist and stopped her. “I love you, Sasha,” he said.
Sasha grunted softly and without looking at him, asked, “do you?”
“With all my heart.”
“So you say,” she replied and he let go of her hand, she doesn’t know if it was in shock but she didn’t care, rather she walked into the house, wondering when it will all finally come to an end.

Four days later, Sasha parked in front of her parents mansion, it was a gift from Michael two years ago for their anniversary. She could still remember how her mother screamed like a schoolgirl the day they were handed the keys. It had been so difficult keeping the secret from her but she awarded herself for trying despite her mother’s bugging. ‘What are you and Michael going to give me for my anniversary?’ she would always ask and she would always reply, ‘I don’t know mom, you will see that day’.
She climbed out of the car and walked into the house, she saw her mother being the good housewife that she is, calling out orders to the maids to carry out. She knew her mother has always admired Vanessa and always aimed to be like her. She had also noticed something of recent, she had started dressing like Vanessa and always tries to carry herself like the woman, she even talks softly now just so she would sound as graceful as Vanessa. Sasha had told her number of times that she doesn’t need to copy her co-mother-in-law but she never listens. She has gone about a year ago telling her that now she lives in a mansion as well, that she would see she can run her home just like Vanessa.
She had gone then and had three huge portraits of herself, her father and her and hung them in the living room just as there was a portrait of Joseph, Vanessa and Michael in the Brown’s Villa. She had thought her mother was doing too much and tried to talk her out of it but as always, it fell on deaf ears.
Now seeing how she was moving her hand in flair like Vanessa, she had to stop herself from rolling her eyes, anyone that sees her will know that she is forcing it. “Will you stop that?”
Angelica glanced by the door and seeing her, she called softly just like Vanessa would, “Sasha, you came.”
Sasha rolled her eyes, “you attitude is almost making me forget why I came in the first place.”
“What do you mean?” she kept talking slowly, acting like Vanessa.
“Mom, you have always been a fast talker, you talking like this makes me think you are a slug.”
“Hey,” Angelica called in her normal voice, “what the hell do you mean?”
“Good,” Sasha smiled tauntingly, “in case you should know, I have never heard Vanessa say hell.”
“I didn’t, I was just…”
“Mom please stop.”
“Fine,” Angelica sighed, “what brings you here anyway?”
“I’m no longer welcomed?”
Angelica rolled her eyes, “come over here,” she patted on the couch she was sitting on and Sasha joined her, “is everything okay?”
“Yes, I had a spare time at the office and I decided to come see you. Are you good?”
“Of course I am, I’m living fine,” she chuckled.
Sasha nodded with a soft smile, “that’s good. Where is dad?”
“At work, obviously. How is Michael?”
“He is fine,” she nodded but with a sad tone in her voice which Angelica didn’t notice and Sasha didn’t know if she should be happy or sad about that.
“I was about to have lunch, you can join me,” Angelica invited and stood up.
“Thanks,” Sasha replied and stood to follow her but her eyes glanced at the television and she furrowed her brows reading the headline. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing as she was lost staring at the photo on the screen.
“Sasha?” Angelica called.
“Mom I’m sorry but I have to go.”
“But you just got here.”
“I know, I will come see you another time, okay?” she kissed her cheek and walked out of the house.
“Sasha,” Angelica called but she was already out to hear her. She frowned and glanced at the television only for her to be shocked as well.
