That day, Lucas and Rose headed home feeling completely drained. They had both worked long hours, and the stress of the week sat heavily on their shoulders. The sun had already set by the time Lucas parked the car, and the streetlights glowed faintly in the distance. Rose rested her head against the window during the ride, too tired to even pretend she wasn’t exhausted.
