Morning came too fast. Gwen barely slept. Her head ached, and her body still felt heavy from the night before. But she forced herself up, went to the bathroom, and took a quick shower. The cold water helped clear her head a little. Liam hadn’t come home last night. That alone gave her a small sense of relief. She could breathe freely, even for a few minutes. Maybe, she thought, she could get to work, find answers, find something that would lead her to Damien. She dressed up quickly, a black skirt, a cream blouse, and her small office heels.
