THE NEXT TWO days at work, Emma needed a sweater with the reception Jacob gave her. It was beyond icy. Of course, that didn’t stop him from shooting furtive glances her way whenever he thought she wasn’t looking. Yet, now it seemed like he was trying to see if his ignoring her had any effect on her. It’s not ignoring me, goof, if you keep looking over here at me. She shook her head after catching him staring at her again after lunch thinking that now he was just being ridiculous. She was tempted to walk over and call him out, but then again, that didn’t go over so well last Wednesday. She decided to just shrug it off and focus on her Hump Day activities for later that night.
