CHAPTER FIVE
EMMA CHECKED HER watch, groaning. She still had five minutes before she could officially call it the weekend. She looked forward to hitting the clubs with Brandy and getting away from this place. There were parties to prepare for and fantasies to turn into reality.
“Good, you haven’t left yet,” Emma’s boss said, as he neared her desk.
“Rourke, I have plans this weekend. Don’t go screwing them up.”
“Sorry, Em, but those designs need to be finished ASAP. Don’t worry, I’ll have someone here to help you, but this can’t be put off. Be here bright and early tomorrow morning.”
Emma hung her head and groaned. “So much for my carefree weekend.”
“That’s why you get paid the big bucks.” Rourke tapped her desk and walked off.
