The Date

We drove to the next town over which was a riverside town, I had arranged for us to spend the afternoon on the water on a pleasure cruise. When we pulled up to the harbor and I asked the guy which boat was " Timeout " he pointed out a sleek blue and white yacht. She was beautiful, she had a full staff including a chef, who was prepared to cook us anything we wanted. " Ted this is beautiful " Leticia looked around at the area where we would spend most of our time, there was a square seating area with loads of cushions and the table was set with white rose petals and chilled champagne and finger foods. The captain was a nice southern lady, she had a drawl in her voice that was adorable " good afternoon y'all " she came over and introduced herself, she was Captain Shelly-Ann Hunley " y'all are as cute as a speckled pup, I love to see couples matching outfits " it knocked the wind out of my sails when Letti told her we weren't a couple " and y'all didn't plan to match today? Well maybe fate is trying to tell y'all something darlin " I smiled and Letti laughed. She told us she would take us out and around the river for a 3 hour cruise and lunch would be served in an hour after we set sail. Letti was like a kid, she'd never been out on the water and she was really enjoying sailing, she didn't drink much so I had them serve water and soda as well. She enjoyed the finger foods and ordered a grilled seafood medley, she said she was staying in the theme of the date. I watched her as she ran back and forth looking over the side hoping to see some fish, I asked her to come sit with me for a while and she came over and sat next to me with her head leaning on my chest while we looked out at the water. We sat like that until the food came out and we enjoyed the grilled seafood and vegetables, Leticia figured out she hated calamari but was very VERY fond of grilled butternut squash. Everytime she bit into a piece she moaned and closed her eyes, I was getting turned on and I asked her to come closer. She came closer and I pulled her on my lap " can I kiss you Leticia? " she laughed " you don't have to ask everytime you want to kiss me Ted ". I growled and I held her chin and brought her face closer to mine, I softly kissed her lips and tasted the herbs and spices off the food on her lips and tongue. She was delicious and I couldn't get enough. Then I had to put my big stupid foot in my mouth and mess things up, while I was kissing her luscious lips I paused and asked her if she had let the human kiss her. She stiffened and got off my lap " why would you ask me that Ted? It's not like you have any right to be jealous here, you blatantly and purposely ignored our connection for 5 damn years " she bit her lip and folded her hands over her chest " you can't question me like that " I sighed " I'm sorry, I'm just afraid you'll fall in love and leave me in the dust, yes I know it would be my fault but still....I can't help but think of what may happen if you two keep going out " she huffed and sat back down facing the river, " you can't dictate who I date or even if I date Ted or could've been you...it should've been you " I hung my head because I knew she was right, but I didn't want to admit that. " I know that Letti but as long as he's in the picture I feel threatened ", she swung her head around to me " tell me something Ted.....are you a virgin? " I shook my head " no " she nodded as though considering something " well I am and you have no wiggle room here, I'll go out with Raymond and if I find I have feelings for him then we can have a more serious conversation " I hated this, I hated that my unwillingness to tell her when I first found out had resulted in this situation, she has someone else interested and courting her, I'm sad, I'm angry and I'm frustrated, but there's s**t all I can do right now. Let's hope he f***s up somehow and leaves me to pick up the pieces. We were both now out of sorts and moody, I asked her if she enjoyed the cruise " I loved it, I've never been out on the water before, thank you for this Ted " I somberly replied " no problem, I'm happy you had a good time " she turned to face me and cupped my cheek with her hand " I really did Ted, but I enjoyed it because I got to spend time with you as well " I smiled and turned my face to kiss her palm. We sat close together on the ride back, thanked Captain Shelly as we disembarked and got back in the truck. It was now almost 6pm, " do you want to go somewhere or do you wanna go home " I asked her, " I'd actually like to go home and see my boy, maybe we can take him for a walk and then come back and play twenty questions on the couch or porch " I held her hand " I'd like that, very much "

We arrived at her place around 7pm, she got out of the truck and as soon as she unlocked the door Shadow pounced on me, knocking me on my ass and licking my face " ew Shadow...buddy, you need a toothbrush

man " I chuckle as he ran around all excited. Leticia looked at us incredulously " he really thinks you're his friend " I stare her down " hey! we are friends, I'm gonna come and take him on runs as much as I can, I'll even ask the Alpha if he can go on pack runs with us sometimes, he needs to be around other wolves " she nodded " don't I know it " she said sadly. I step forward and hug her " I'm sorry baby, I'm sorry you had to go through what you went through and I'm sorry your only family abandoned you, I'm so very sorry that I didn't do my duty as your mate and give you the unconditional love you deserved and needed " she laid her head on my chest " the past is in the past we can just pick it up from here " she turned to me " the only thing I've ever wanted is my mate, I think I'm ready to be with you and see how it goes, the sparks are getting stronger every time you touch me, our bond is strengthening " She reached out and touched my hand " Ted.....I Leticia Summers of the Sunset Pack hereby accept you Ted Levi as my mate " I was shocked, so shocked that forgot to do the same, she looked at me in my daze " Ted....Ted are you ok? " I jumped and held her hand tighter, " I Ted Levi, beta of the Sunset pack, hereby accept you Leticia Summers as my mate " I smiled a mile wide and hugged her, holding her tightly. I can't believe it, she accepted me, I have my mate, now for the hard part.....getting her to fall in love with me.

Letti started giggling " Ted...I can't breathe " I let her go and she gets Shadow's leash and he bounds out of the kitchen like he heard someone say his name, she attached the leash and we headed into the woods. Shadow leads the way and he takes us to the clearing with the pond, Leticia takes him off his leash and he runs circles around me, begging me to come play with him. " You've got him spoiled, he'll be expecting you to run and play with him every time we take him out " I shrugged as long as I haven't got anything going on I'll gladly run with him, he's a powerful wolf, wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't have Alpha genes. I kissed her cheek, stripped down and shifted, Shadow yipped and took off running, the sly brute got a head start on me. Shadow and Hayden tear through the woods playing and chasing each other, Hayden and I let him win a few races, when I run back over to the pond to check on Letti, she's sitting on a rock throwing pebbles into the pond. We run up to her and Hayden licks her hand, she turns and smiles " hey Hayden, how are you " he sits on his haunches and leans into her side, she absentmindedly runs her hand through his fur. Hayden is going crazy " mate likes me, she likes me " I told him of course she did " she's our mate you crazy wolf, she'll love us too if I have anything to do with it "

" Hayden could you give control over to Ted please " I shift and ask her if she's ok " yeah I'm getting a little chilly, can we start heading home please " I put my clothes on and she whistles a high toned whistle and Shadow comes running out of the woods right to her side. She uses a hand signal and he sits quietly while she puts his leash on, she whistles while waving two fingers at him and he gets up and walks by her side. " He is very well trained, did you take him to an obedience school? ". " Yes I did, I didn't want him causing any trouble with the pack, Alpha was nice enough to let me keep him here ", " I wanted to make sure he wouldn't be any trouble " I nodded, we walked back to her place and she asked me if I wanted coffee or something stronger. I opted for something stronger first and then the coffee if I start getting sauced. We started off with simple questions, favorite color, food, taste in music, hobbies and such. Then the fun questions about our childhood and embarrassing memories or moments, I got some coffee and I asked her if she would be ok with moving to the pack house or if she wanted me to move in with her once we were public. She raised her eyebrows and asked me what I thought about it, " I'd live anywhere with you Letti " she smiled at me and says " right answer Ted " I held her hand to my lips and kissed her knuckles, looking into her eyes, nothing was said but we had a whole conversation. She reached out and touched my face and in a whisper so soft I almost didn't hear it she said " kiss me Ted " . I'll be damned if she had to ask me twice, I leaned forward, slamming my lips onto hers, the sparks erupted across my lips and through my body. The kiss started off sweet, then got heated, next thing I knew she was on my lap straddling me, her hands in my hair and we're both moaning. I stand and walk over to the couch, laying her on her back, pressing my body into hers, we break apart, panting, breathless and I'm as hard as a rock, " um Ted.....something in your pocket is jabbing a hole in my thigh " I clear my throat and chuckle " Leticia baby, that's not something in my pocket " she furrowed her brows and when she caught on it was the cutest thing, her face flushed very red and she covered her face with her hands and groaned. I laughed and took her hands off her face " you know if we're going to be living together as mates, you're going to have to see it sooner or later, you've seen me shift a few times...have you never looked? " she shook her head no and I chuckled again " do you wanna see it now? " I asked raising my eyebrows, she looked as though she was considering it and then she held my hand and led me upstairs.
