"I need help! Please, someone stop this," I yelled as two burly men in suits hauled Aiden away from Martin, who was already sporting a battered face. "Don't you dare touch my woman," bellowed Aiden, his voice reverberating across the room while the men I assumed to be security escorted him towards his office. "I'm truly sorry," I offered my apologies to Martin. "It's okay," he managed, nursing his neck where Aiden had choked him earlier. I snatched up my purse and made my way to Aiden's office. As I turned the doorknob and called out, "Aiden?" I found the office deserted. Just as I was about to leave, a voice halted me, "Ms. Selena," said the woman as I faced her. "Where is Aiden?" I inquired. "He's gone," she informed, prompting me to exit the office shaking my head.
