"I love you," The three words slipped out of my mouth louder than I expected, causing Aiden's face to light up.
If someone had predicted this moment, I would have probably scoffed at the idea. "What took you so long to confess?" I teased, and he playfully rolled his eyes.
"I was afraid you'd reject me. You know how stubborn you can be," Aiden admitted, and I nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, I know," I acknowledged.
"And I wouldn't have believed it because, well, your feelings for me were so inconsistent. One moment you're affectionate, the next you act indifferent," I added, stepping back from Aiden's embrace.
