SELENA'S POV As I fled from the Evans mansion, the words "It's not what you think" echoed in my mind. His footsteps followed me, likely to explain the chaos I had witnessed, but I couldn't bear to face him. When everything seemed to be going well between us, and then this happened. Tears threatened to spill as I hailed a taxi. "Selena, my love, wait!" Aiden's voice called out one last time before I climbed into the waiting cab. "Please, drive faster," I urged the chauffeur as he revved the engine. Before Aiden could reach us, the driver sped away. After a few minutes, I provided the driver with my destination. Memories of the evening replayed in my mind as we drove. Maybe I shouldn't have attended the dinner, but then I wouldn't have discovered Aiden's true nature.
