Chapter 42When he opened his eyes again, the light was dim, and for a minute, Micah couldn’t decide if the day was over or somebody had put a lantern in the room. Someone in fact had put a battery-powered lamp in the room and placed it on a desk. He swung his legs over the edge of the cot and rubbed his eyes.
“I see you’re awake at last,” Ben said from the doorway.
“I’m sorry. I just dropped off for a couple of minutes. I should be going now.”
“It’s been a lot longer than a brief nap. It’s almost seven in the evening,” Ben informed him. Micah leaped up and made his way out of the room, but Ben stopped him.
“I know you’re still trying to find Don. He hasn’t been through the center yet, but we’re short-handed, and we could really use your help.”
