Elena's POV
“Are you both deaf?” Alpha Rowland yelled as he tilted his head side to side, looking at the two of us. I cleared my throat slightly to talk when Selena's maid beat me to it.
“She started it. She bumped into me first and didn't apologize. I tried to talk to her about and she started to yell.” She said in a polite tone as she bowed her head. I tilted my head to give her a stern look. She had just lied. What on earth was I ever going to say that would make the Alpha believe I was not at fault? I thought in my mind.
I tilted back my head to see Selena, who was still laughing quietly at the back of the alpha. Alpha Rowland cleared his throat as he tilted his head to give me a straight gaze, heaving a sigh.
“Have you suddenly gone dumb? Why are you not answering my questions?”
