Chapter Four- You're Not Human

2418 Words
As soon as he was out of his state of shock, Xavier ran after her. He never saw her back, and after a minute her scent completely vanished. He looked around, and walked a little further, but she was nowhere to be found. And just like that, suddenly, out of nowhere, her scent was back full force. “Weird,” he thought, but went towards the scent anyways. He didn't understand why she had run if she was just going to stop all of a sudden.      She was at a clearing, sitting on a rock, her back to him, looking at a small pond. She turned to look at him and, to his surprise, her dark sunglasses were gone. She had the most mesmerising eyes he'd ever seen. They were a light blue color that reminded him of the deep sea, with specs of green and an outer ring that looked yellow and orange with the light, it made it look like fire surrounded her irises. He was sure he’d see those eyes before, but he couldn’t think of where then, except maybe in a dream. The emotions he felt at that moment were simply indescribable. Unconsciously, he kept walking forward, never breaking eye contact. She was the first to look away, when he was standing right in front of her.      He didn’t know what to do, he didn’t know what to say. “I-I won’t hurt you.” he said, hoping she wouldn’t run away.        she almost laughed out loud. ‘stupid wolfman’ she thought to herself. ‘I should pretend to be mute or something. Oh right, I already talked to him.’ She got up, only then realizing that he was a full head taller than her. Quite literally, his chin could well be placed on top of her head with no trouble. she hated having to look up to see his eyes. He made her feel small and vulnerable, something she definitely was not used to.         “So what is it that you want?” she asked calmly.        He just couldn’t get over her voice. He was so drawn to her already. He knew finding his mate would wake up feelings he had never experienced before, but having her before him made him feel things he couldn’t have even imagined.          He cleared his throat, not wanting to make a fool out of himself, yet again. “What’s your name?” he asked, and ignored the outraged look she gave him, waiting for the answer.        “Lucia” she replied sharply.        “I’m Xavier White.” He stretched out his hand for her to shake.        She looked at his outstretched hand, then back up at him. “And I... don’t care” she replied cheerfully. She proceeded to go around him and start walking back to her car, she could not lose her time with him, and she couldn’t let him waste his thinking she was his.      He felt a little pang in his heart, but ignored it the best he could. Before she could get too far away, he reached out and grabbed her hand, taking her by surprise and making her turn to face him again. Her eyes widened at his abrupt action, and he found himself lost in those shining blue orbs she called ayes, once again. He could feel the sparks on his hand, so comforting, he never wanted to let go. He wanted her so bad just by touching her, and he could see the confusion in her eyes. "Wait, don't go," he finally said. He was holding back, trying not to scare her, but all he wanted to do was take her in his arms and kiss her with all his might.         Luci could feel the sparks too. The sparks made her uncomfortable, it was a weird feeling that made her want to puke; it was different from Diana’s magic though, but she didn’t know exactly how. "Excuse me, but I have somewhere to be," she said nicely. 'Stupid! I should be kicking his ass for touching me, not being nice!' She thought to herself. After a few seconds of no one saying anything, she abruptly pulled her hand to get away, but he had a firm grip on it. She glared at him then. "Let. Go" she said emphasizing each word, she should be very angry, oddly enough the sparks felt better the longer he held her hand.        Her angry look was intimidating, it made her eyes look like they were set on fire, and her tone almost made him lose his hold on her hand, but he wasn't about to let her go now that he had finally found her. He would explain everything later. Now, he had to take her with him, to his home, their home.        He pulled her closer to him. 'This probably isn't the right way to go' he thought to himself, yet went on. "I want you to come with me. I need you by my side" he whispered in her ear.       His voice and his nearness made shivers run down her spine, and judging by the smirk in his face, the shiver did not go unnoticed by him. She hated how her body reacted to him, and she hated even more that she could not simply use her powers to get away from him. "Let-let me g-go" she stuttered breathlessly, her breath tickling his neck. This time, it was him shivering.         He looked down into her eyes. She didn't look scared, which surprised him, but pleased him nonetheless. God only knew how bad he wanted to kiss her, mark her, claim her. Her body was so responsive to him already and he loved it.            Somehow, unconsciously, they closed the remaining space between them. She was looking up at him, lost in the forest that were his green eyes, and he was looking down into the celestial rings of fire that were hers. Their heads came closer and closer, and each of them would break eye contact to glance at the other's lips, then look back up. They could feel each other's breath hovering over their mouths when they heard someone scream, "XAVIER!"          Only then did Luci realize the position she was in. She was on the tips of her toes, one of her hands still in his, while the other was gently gripping his shoulder. He had his other hand firmly placed on her waist, under her open jacket, holding her body as close to his as physically possible. She quickly pushed him away, but he still wouldn't let go of her hand. "We have to go" came the voice again. This time the girl that looked like him appeared from behind some trees.         'Rogues' Annie mind-linked Xavier as soon as she saw the anger in his face. She probably interrupted something important, but it was his fault for blocking his mind link.        Xavier didn't think twice. In fact he didn't think at all. It was an automatic reaction to grab his mate closer to him, while a soft growl erupted from his chest. It was his wolf trying to keep her safe and it put his body on automatic. All he could do was hope she wouldn't hear so she wouldn't get scared.        Luci heard it, and she thought that was the sexiest thing she had ever experienced. She was mad because he was practically manhandling her, but when he growled, and then lowered his head to take a deep breath of her scent, she just wanted to run her hands through his perfect hair; that small action made her feel so protected, and although she didn’t need it, it made her feel good. 'Snap out of it' she scolded herself, but before she could push him away from her he pulled himself away from her and began to walk back toward the cars, trying to pull her with him. Still at a loss with what had happened, she didn’t budge, but he had no time to waste.     It all happened so fast, by the time she was back to her senses, he had thrown her over his shoulder, and they were all quickly approaching the cars, where the other man was already inside her car. "Put me down!" She screeched and wiggled to try to get out of his hold, but no one paid attention and she was unsuccessful. She watched as the black haired man drove away in her car. "My car!" She screamed again. Truth was, she didn't really care about the car, but she wanted to get away from them as soon as possible, and without her powers, that car was the only other way.        Xavier's body was still in overdrive, while he barked orders to his warriors through the mind link. He threw Lucia into the back seat, and put the child lock on the doors, while Annie got in the passenger seat. He then got in the driver's seat and without bothering to even put on the seat belt, took off.  Once she regained her composure and had sat up straight, Lucy crossed her arms and cleared her throat to gain her assailants attention.      Xavier looked at her through the rearview mirror, and Annie turned in her seat to look at her. They were both honestly a little surprised and intrigued by her. Aside from when Xavier first threw her on his shoulder, she had not kicked or screamed any more, or even made a fuss once they were inside the car. That was the first sign of life she had given in the few minutes they had been back on the road.     Lucy looked straight ahead, "you do know this is considered k********g, right?" She asked one eyebrow raised, and an overall annoyed expression on her face, making it clear she was not one bit afraid.       Xavier and Annie just focused back at their current task without saying anything, but Xavier couldn't help the smile that flashed through his face, and Annie couldn't help but think the girl was pretty damn cool.        By the time they got to the pack house Luci was fast asleep; that thing Diana did to her every time she used her powers had a toll on her, and she was exhausted.        Xavier didn't have the time to waste to look at her sleeping face, but the glance he caught while taking her up to his room was breathtaking. So calm, so peacefully, she looked like a true goddess, and a temptress, no doubt.         He placed Lucia on his bed, and put a silver handcuff around her right wrist, the other around the bedpost. He gave her one last longing glance, hating to have to tie her down to his bed, and left the room, locking the door behind him. He went down the stairs, and out the door in a flash. He had pack business to attend to, rogue attacks weren't very common on his territory, so when they came, they surely meant trouble.        Xavier left Adam behind to check up on Lucia in case she woke up before he got back. He warned him not to let his mate go, and he agreed to just talk to her and hopefully help her calm down, surely she'd be creeped out when she woke up.         The rogue attack left Xavier feeling uneasy. The rogues just stood at the border, but never actually attacked. By the time Xavier arrived, all the warriors were already there. When Xavier arrived, the rogues simply bowed, as his pack did to show respect, but when Xavier growled, they left. They waited around to see if they came back, but nothing happened. Xavier made sure to re enforce the border patrols before returning to the pack house with Ethan, Lilly, and Annie right behind him. As soon as he entered the living room, Adam informed him Lucia hadn't woken while they were away. He went to check on her to find her still asleep. 'It was probably the shock' he thought 'that's why she hasn't woken up'. After calmly admiring her sleeping face; her soft features, button nose, and those plump lips, naturally pouty, he went down to join everyone else and talk about the rogues.         Luci felt herself regain consciousness and she rubbed her stomach with her left hand. All that sleeping made her hungry. She stretched her limbs, and heard a  noise above her head.  She looked up at her hands to find her right hand chained to the bed. 'Ugh stupid wolfman!' She thought, reaching her right wrist with her left hand and simply snapping the silver bracelet in half. She sat on the border of the bed and fully stretched her arms above her head. She got up and simply snapped the doorknob, when she felt it locked. Barefoot and without her jacket, she walked out of the room and down the stairs. 'Now, now, where could the kitchen be?' She thought at the bottom of the stairs, looking around the house. The house was magnificent, no doubt. She heard chatter in the next room and decided to just walk that way. From the entrance of that room she could see the kitchen. 'Eureka' she smirked and started walking, humming along to 'Ain't It Fun,' the only song she knew, because it was her set ringtone, out loud. She walked passed all the wolves sitting on a couch facing away from her, too hungry to care about them. After she walked into the kitchen, she took her long hair and put it in a messy knot on the top of her head. She looked in the fridge and decided to have a sandwich.         She was almost done making her sandwich, while sarcastically singing "ain't it fun, living in the real world?" She suddenly heard someone clear their throat from the entrance and looked up while taking a bite out of her sandwich. Xavier, her mate, was standing there, leaning on the doorframe, arms crossed, one single eyebrow raised.         "What?" She asked after a while of just staring at each other.         "You broke the handcuffs." He stated, it wasn't a question, what was she supposed to say? 'What are handcuffs anyways? The only thing I broke was the bracelet thing. Oh, that's handcuffs.'         "I was hungry" she shrugged it off, showing him her sandwich, looking towards him, but not at him.        He so desperately wanted her to look at him in the eyes, but she was looking anywhere but him. At the moment, her sight was focused on her sandwich. He knew he had to ask her, he just couldn't find it in him to doubt her, she was his mate. Everyone else was pressuring him through the mind link, so he blocked them out and just began with what he knew for sure. "You're not human."
