Lucy laid against the tree she sat under as she watched Katie run and play with Howl only a few feet away. She had to figure out a way to tell Xavier what Katie’s fate was. It was one thing to accept a mate with that kind of baggage, but to willingly hand off a daughter into that was a completely different story.
