Chapter Thirteen- You'll Kill Me

1643 Words
There was an awkward silence in the waiting room, as everyone waited for Lucy to come out of the bedroom where she had taken Aaron into; the air felt tense as they all sat stiffly, each lost in their own thoughts. Adam could not take his eyes off of his mate, whose name he still didn't know, and she didn't know where to look to avoid his stare.         Xavier kept a blank face while looking directly at the door, as if he could see through it. The thought of his mate in there with some other male irked him to no end, but he was able to stay calm due to the fact that he was a mated, older, male, and his mate was in the room, sitting right in front of him; looking like the most grateful she wolf there was, and her mate was the one alone in  room with an attractive young woman. The baby in the woman's arms was still asleep, unaware of anything that had happened during the last two hours, and during the rest of his life. Xavier wanted to ask the two women who they were and where they came from, but now that he knew they weren’t a threat, he decided it was best to wait until the man regained his health so they could all talk to him and Lucy. Maybe this would make his mate asume her position as pack luna and even maybe as his mate; Xavier grew anxious at the thought, he couldn’t wait to share everything with her.         Lucy finally walked out of the room and smiled at the woman, who smiled back content. "You can go see him now," and as soon as she was done both women were up and walking away into the room.        Adam had the strong urge to follow behind, but he knew she needed some time, so he got up and walked outside instead; he needed to clear his head.        As soon as everyone else was out of sight, Luci collapsed. She had used her magic to heal Aaron, which had caused her an immense amount of pain in return and her body would probably shut down any moment. She had prayed to her sister while she used her magic, begged her to let her be, but her sister only answered her prayers with a pity filled sigh and an apology for not being able to stop the consequences of the bet. Still, Lucy mustered all her strength and used it all to heal Aaron as much as she could.     Xavier was quick to catch her before her head made contact with the ground, and with the worry of the moment, he didn't realize the very intimate position they landed in. He was just glad he had been there to catch her. As soon as the initial shock was over, however, he was hyper aware of every inch of her body pressing against his.         He had managed to snake his hands under her head, to avoid it hitting the floor; and her hands were tightly grabbing on to the back of his shirt, from under his own arms. Her legs were sprawled open and he was in between, their hips in direct contact. Their foreheads were pressed together, and he could feel every one of her heavy breaths. Both their eyes were shut tightly, in anticipation of the impact, and he was the first to open them. She followed a minute later, only to be met by the forest green that made her knees give in. She could feel all of him against her, and she enjoyed the feeling, knowing she shouldn't.         'Just this once' she thought to herself 'I can enjoy this just a little bit longer,' and she tightened the hold on his shirt. He made her feel so safe, although he was basically the only person on earth that could possibly hurt her. He let their foreheads fall apart, and hugged her tightly. She hugged him back, and at the temptation of her sweet scent, he couldn't help but leave a small, lingering kiss on the sweet spot of her neck.         The sensations that ran through her body at that precise moment were unexplainable; not even kissing had felt so intimate as their current position, and it had been a pretty heated kiss. She simply shut her eyes tighter, and one of her knees ended up bent, somewhere it the process of his sweet torture.         They were unaware of their surroundings, they forgot they were in the middle of the second floor waiting room, and that anyone could walk in and see them; and she most certainly forgot she was tired and in pain from using magic. It was like one little kiss on her neck from him, and her body didn't need to rest, she was full of energy and her heart beat the fastest it could.         He could now feel her breaths, or pants, on his neck, and a shiver ran down his back every other breath she took. Noticing that she was OK with his advance he started to trail small kisses from the base of her neck to the bottom of her ear. Her breath hitched every kiss he gave her, and she inhaled sharply, and stopped breathing when he slowly bit her earlobe.         She exhaled shakily, once he let go, there was something igniting inside her, and it wanted more of him. Her other knee slowly bent of its own accord, and she could feel even more of him now. He growled sensually, and it was the most erogenous thing she had ever heard. She had no control over herself as she imitated his actions and left a small lingering kiss on the base of his neck.        Another growl "s-top" came out shakily from the mouth near her ear. He slowly traveled up to where their noses were touching before continuing, before she got upset, or felt rejected. "Baby, if we don't stop you'll regret it, I know you will." He then proceeded to take her lower lip in-between his teeth and softly pulled it. She moaned, and feeling embarrassed, closed her mouth, only to end up lip locked with Xavier. They wide eyes met for an instant, before automatically closing, as they got lost in the kiss. He moaned, and she felt courage spark within her; she took his bottom lip between her teeth and pulled it a little, before breaking the kiss. She opened her eyes, to see him already staring at her. "Uuugghh" he screamed and hugged her tightly while wiggling  around with her in his arms. "I told you to stop, you'll kill me!"      Lucy felt a blush creep up her neck and all the way up to the tips of her ears; she felt her heart pounding loudly in her chest, so she closed her eyes in embarrassment. She felt Xavier shift on top of her, and her chest constricted a little at the thought of losing his contact. Instead of that, she felt him pant a series of kisses all over her face; on her eyes, her cheeks, the tip of her nose, and lastly, he placed a longing kiss on her forehead, and sighed deeply making her bangs tickle her forehead.      They heard noise on the other side of the door where the strangers were and he quickly scattered to his feet, then held his hand out for her to take and helped her up. He pulled her close to him and hugged her with that same hand he was holding, bending her own hand behind her back in the process. He pressed a hard but short kiss to her lips which caught her by surprise, and let her go just in time for the door to open. He kept her hand engulfed in his and smiled at the older woman, who no longer held the baby in her hands. Only then did Xavier notice the worn out look in his face, the woman looked tired and weak, like she hadn’t eaten or slept in days, and he grew more curious of their story.      “Thank you,”  the woman said from the door, she was looking directly at Lucy as she vowed her head. “My husband is alive and well because of you, we will be forever in your debt,” there was nothing but sincerity shining in her eyes.      “Please don’t say that, it was the normal thing to do to help those in need,” Lucy smiled back at the woman.     Xavier’s heart swelled at the kindness his mate was demonstrating to have and he smiled to himself before turning to the woman. “Do you think he’s well enough to talk?” he asked, still not letting go of his mate’s hand.      “Yes of course, that’s why I came to see you.” The woman smiled, “He’s well, all well,” there was so much hope and love in her voice that Xavier just knew they were doing the right thing.     Lucy pulled her hand from his, causing him to look at her questioningly, “don’t you want to come in there with me and hear what they have to say?”      Lucy smiled tightly at him then, “As much as I am intrigued, I find myself even more exhausted, so I’m afraid I’ll have to retire to my chambers to rest for a bit.”     He remembered that she had collapsed then, “of course, my love, go rest and I’ll have someone bring you some food later,” he hugged her to him and pressed a kiss to her forehead.      Lucy was so taken aback that she didn’t have time to react or push him away. She simply let herself drown in the feeling his touch gave her and sighed. She needed his touch more than anything in that moment.      Xavier pushed her away after a moment and waited until she rounded the corner before he proceeded into the room behind the woman.
