Ariella POV
When our paths crossed in the dining hall, I grabbed my bodyguard's phone.
"Easy," I smirked as I flipped his phone in my hands. I'm going to use this for something, but I'll give it to him later. I know he's going to kill me, but my father will never let him. My father is by my side. I smirked once more as I entered my new room in my father's opulent mansion. Carrying tons of kilos in my womb made me feel like a princess.
They're getting bigger, and my back hurts at times, but I know it'll all be worth it when I see my babies. I'm excited for that to happen.
I shut my door and sagged on my bed.
"Hmmm, who's the lucky one I'll call first?" I murmured while doing a Minnie miny mo in the hidden contacts. I'm fortunate that the phone has no password. My bodyguard isn't a fan, poor guy.
"Mr. Obvisi, gotcha! Hahahaha, let's see who can make the game more interesting." I dialed his number, which rang several times.
I tapped my legs a few times, trying to appease myself for having waited too long in this old ape. He does, however, appear to be one.
I waited a few more rings before it vanished.
"Looks like he's busy making plans," I said as I dialed his number again, and after a few rings, the other line answered.
"Who is this?" an elderly voice inquired.
"I pity you, Mr. Obvisi, that you don't know who will kill you," I said, clearing my throat.
I altered my voice slightly to sound different.
He gritted his teeth, "WHO THE f**k ARE YOU?" His breath was heard to be difficult to control.
"You can't afford to know me, sir, but I'm sure whatever you're playing will cost you your life. HAHAHA”
"Don't threaten me, Miss, because I'm already old, I've already spent my life in this dirty world, and you can't threaten me like this; I'm different from others who run in danger, and I'm sorry to say that I can kill you even if you're a woman."
He claimed to be trying to be amusing, but he was a terrible actor. Hearing his voice makes his inner feelings all too clear. Fear me, Mr. Obvisi, because I'm going to kill you one day.
"Just wait for me, or maybe I'll visit you in your dreams, Mr. Obvisi; I am your worst nightmare; just be careful next time," I said before hanging up the phone. "I'll be the baddest karma you've ever known," I say as I look through my bodyguard's phone once more. I'm looking for Matthew, Danica, or Maria this time.
When I saw Danica's name among the long lists, I almost jumped for joy. Danica is the best investigator, and my bodyguard is a secret agent. If you're wondering why my bodyguard's cellphone has phone numbers, it's because it's his business phone, where all potential contacts or people who approach them to settle cases are hidden and compiled.
Her phone rings, but no one picks up. I dialed again just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.
After a few rings, I just decided to stop bothering them because I might be bothering them.
Someone on the other line answered an inch away from my fingertip.
"Hello?" she said, sleepily.
"Hey"
"Uhm hi Nics," I said shyly, trying to hide my nervousness.
"WHAT THE f**k, CALLIXTA! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? WE'RE ALL WORRIED ABOUT YOU! WHERE ARE YOU NOW, HUH?"Because of the volume of his voice, I yanked the phone away from my ear.
"Calm down, Nics. You're going to break my eardrums," I say.
"I'm sorry, Calli, but are you okay?" she inquired.
"Yes, I'm fine, don't worry about me Nics, thanks for asking," I said, hearing her sigh.
"Did you know we've been trying to track and locate your location? Matthew was overly concerned and worried about you," she explained.
"Him and Blast haven't talked since you left, and Matthew also told me everything; I'm sorry Calli, but there's more to that story," she added, but I wiped away her words.
"Let's not talk about it, Nics. So, how are you? Your work? You and Matthew?" I kept asking, curious about what was going on with them.
"We're fine, Calli, but as I previously stated, these two idiots' relationship is having difficulties."
"Oh," is the only word that comes to mind.
"I'm sorry, it's my fault," I say, blaming myself.
"No, you shouldn't blame yourself; this isn't anyone's fault; circumstances forced us to do things even against our will," she explained, and I agree. How this girl can be both childish and mature at the same time.
"Thank you for your wise words," I joked, trying to change the subject.
"Hahaha you still didn't change," she laughed, and a small vibrate came from her throat.
"Matthew informed me about my godsons," she added. My throat tightened; how was I going to tell her it wasn't true? That I only said that out of rage and emotion, but I also can't tell the truth directly because Blast might find out. That's what I'm trying to avoid right now.
"Uhm, Nics, can we meet some time? I'll tell you everything, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to come out of my hiding place plmy bodyguard now."
"Of course, I'm available for you; you can send me a letter, text me, or leave clues so that I'll know; I'll bring Matthew as well. I hope and wish that you are truly fine there, Calli." Please take care of yourself and be strong in the face of life's challenges."
"I will always remember all of your words, and I hope you will as well." Please tell Matthew and Maria how much I miss them. We'll see each other again soon. Bye."
"Bye!" she said as the phone call ended.
I slept on the soft mattress, feeling overjoyed.
I sang gleefully as I browsed the screen again.
I discovered a file while searching through my cellphone. Curiosity seems to be alive and well in my body. I tapped the folder, but a password is required.
"Hmmmm, what would my bodyguard's password be?" I inquired.
my chin, considering possible code and number combinations I'm not sure what his birthday is. I'm only vaguely aware of his preferences, loves, and special occasions.
"Arghhhh, what will it be?" I tried entering numbers, but it just keeps saying 'incorrect password.'
I was about to try another combination when the doorbell rang. I threw the phone on the bed and hid it beneath the pillow. I went over to the door and opened it.
"Yes, how may I help him—"
"Did you see my phone?" my bodyguard interrupts. I gulped as a result of his intense stare. He crossed his arms and raised his brows at me.
"I didn't see it. Why would you ask me those questions? You know I don't have any technology or gadgets. Well, you mentioned that, I'm also thinking of buying Dad a cellphone and other gadgets. I'm not the case had since I entered and stayed in the pack members' mansion."
My hands were icy cold, but sweat was visible. I put my two hands behind my back to hide that from his prying eyes. It's difficult to lie to someone who knows everything or notices everything.
"Don't lie to me, Jeiah. You're not a good liar," he said, his eyes challenging. When I opened my mouth, his jaw tightened, but I quickly closed it when I saw his expression.
"You're not kidding, my brother," I cough awkwardly. He extended his hand in front of me, indicating that he was about to take it from me.
"Uhm hehe, just wait a minute, I'll just get inside," I said before closing and leaving the door open. I recently returned to my seat and found the cellphone under the pillow.
"I used a little," I told him.
"What did you do to my phone?" he demanded again, grabbing the small rectangular electronic device in my right hand.
"I just called some people I know?" I inquired. He seemed to dislike what I said, so he opened his cellphone and checked it.
"I didn't do anything, my bodyguard," I assured him.
"You called two people and attempted to open one of my files," he said, his gaze fixed on his screen.
"You're too smart to know those," I said to him.
"I'm not smart; only once do you behave really stupidly, or is that inborn in you." He is dismissive. "But don't deviate from the topic; why do you have to take it secretly if you can borrow it from me?" he asked seriously.
"It might ruin the fun, and you're not going to let me borrow your phone, especially if there are photos of someone on it."
"It wasn't the problem; the problem is, you could have borrowed it from me, but you chose to steal it from me? And now, because you called enemies, I need to change my sim card again so that I can't be trmy bodyguardd or contacted by whoever you talked to," he said, irritated.
"I'm sorry," I said apologetically. He sighed and wrapped his embrmy bodyguard around me.
"I'm sorry as well; it's just that I'm not used to someone stealing my things." He smiled at me, messing with my already unkempt hair, making me look like a beggar.
"No, it's my fault; I'm truly sorry," I said as I squeezed his chest.
"Hahahaha, are you tender? Let's just eat this; perhaps we're just hungry; let's go; I'll cook for both of us."
"Really? Wow! Let's go!" I walked out of my room, earning a few chuckles from him.
Who could refuse food? Certainly not me
