Matthew POV
"f**k!" I cursed when I came to another dead end in my search for the information I required. I toss the papers on my table, scattering them all. I don't care where it flies. f**k all of this nonsense. I comb my hair, clasping a few strands. To this point, I don't believe being attractive is a problem. I'm currently going through everyone in the mansion to figure out who the traitor is.
They each laid out their own pictures and information. Every time I have a suspicion and begin an investigation, it always comes to naught. I believe there is a rat in our midst.
This person leaks information and plans of the pack members, which is why some of our group's transactions are applauding and Don is irritated. Another issue is that we haven't spoken in depth since that wedding night. I'm still upset about what she said because it hurt Callixta; she doesn't belong in these rivalries.
When my phone rang, I was trying to contact the intel of our pack group so I could dig deeper. Danica was the most childish yet mature crazy woman I'd ever met.
"Yes, what can I do for a beautiful lady? It's an honor that you called me Ma'am," I began to irritate her, but she remained silent.
"Hey, I'm sorry, what is it?" I asked, slightly concerned. She's still my best friend, and I've memorized her.
"She called me," she said, surprised. "Who's she?" I asked, puzzled as to what she was talking about, or perhaps this woman has gone insane due to the amount she does. Omo, am I going to call a mental hospital and have her treated there? But I'll pay her a visit someday.
"She's the she, the one you wanted to track her whereabouts," I realized, and I sat up straight.
"f**k, where is she? Is she okay? Is it true about her unborn children? What did she say?" I inquired of shnod.
"Slowly asking Matthew, it was a short call; didn't anyone overhear our conversation there? We'd better be careful in the weather now," she said.
"Right," I agreed, and decided to check my surroundings before returning my attention to the phone.
"Clear and safe," I said monotonously.
"Good, as I was saying, she called me to say she's okay. She didn't tell her current hire bodyguard, but it was good to know she's okay. She also asked us not to mention this to the alpha. She's hurt, and I can tell by her words and tone. She promised to meet us, but she's not sure because she only stole the phone somewhere or whoever. Let's just wait for her signs that she'll send us."
She explained that she was barely pausing, causing her to chase her breath. She can say it slowly, but she chose to say it in one breath.
"Breathe Nics," I said, sighing. At the very least, we now know she's safe.
Blast will be furious if he finds out we're keeping secrets from him, but I can't blame Callixta. We harmed her in ways she did not deserve. Even though Blast and I are only talking right now, I know the situation is killing him. Even if he does not express his feelings for Callixta, his actions speak volumes. When things get tough, let's just drift here because the more we try to fight the water, the more we hurt and suffer.
"Matthew! What the hell, are you still there? Are you listening? Oh my gosh, how many girls are inside your head right now? Arghh I hate you," she exclaimed as she hung up the phone.
"That's why I don't want to commit to girls," I mumbled as I placed my phone on the table. Girls are girls, all right. They will appear adorable at first, like a cute cat, but after a while, they will transform into a tiger or, worse, a dragon who will throw a fireball.
I got up from my seat to leave the mansion; I also needed to get some fresh air because someone was bringing only bad air here.
"Thank you, and you decided to leave this house first because it's too crowded for all of us," a voice said as I closed the door to my office. The mention of the evil element brings evil and abominable disgusting air inside. It's too thick to blame me for his misfortune.
I ignored him and continued to walk away from the demonic Angel. She is very modest in front of her RAW husband and does not appear to be able to break dishes, but when there are none, she appears to be a queen inside the mansion.
You're skinny, you have bad manners, and I'm still uncomfortable with his actions. Even though Blast had a plan, I couldn't help but notice that woman wasn't attractive.
"Hey, Matthew! I'm talking to you!" she exclaimed, but I simply plugged my earphones into my ear so she couldn't hear. I dashed out to the parking lot where my Mustang was parked. I sighed as I rode here.
I turned on the radio while driving to have music in my environment.
I was struck by the size of the familiar body while driving.
"f**k," I cursed while stepping on the brake. I nearly hit my head, but I ignored you and drove back to a restaurant.
I can see who and what is inside thanks to the glass window. I scanned the entire plmy bodyguard, looking for the person I'd seen earlier.
I can't be wrong, I saw him enter here, but I'm curious why he's here if he's not allowed to leave the mansion. Will he eat alone or will he have an encounter? A slew of questions arose in my handsome mind.
On the back seat of the car, I removed my black jacket and cap. I wore it and even paired it with a black jacket.
I got out of the car and adjusted my hood so it didn't fall off.
Before entering the restaurant, I sifted sesame seeds all over my bodyguard. I sat at a relatively obscure table, but I could see my prey. He sat at the farthest table, clutching the menu. It appears that he is alone, or that someone is waiting for him.
"Excuse me, Sir, may I take your order?" the waitress inquired, forcing me to look at him.
"Uhm, give me the best food you have," I said, returning my gaze to the person I'm watching.
She made me nervous by looking at the entire plmy bodyguard. I changed my mind so she wouldn't recognize me. I drew my hood closer to my skin, hoping it would embrmy bodyguard my entire body. The waiter walked away from me. I took out my phone and pretended to call.
Her order arrived a few minutes later, while I was still watching every move she made.
He also appeared to be looking around, occasionally looking behind him to see if anyone was staring at her. She could sense it.
My order had arrived, so I dealt with it first, turning my gaze to the woman who was with the man. It, like me, is so wrapped up that it cannot be recognized. He's dressed in black denim pants, a hood over his fmy bodyguard, and a cap.
"What the hell," I say because I'm standing far away and can't hear what they're saying.
Even after ten minutes, they are still talking. Maria was seen handing a folder to the man on his knees. Hmm, I typed into my phone, texting Blast.
"Did you send Maria on any missions?" I asked, typing.
"No," he said quickly.
This backs up my suspicions. Something is wrong with him, because if he doesn't have a mission, what is he doing here and what is he giving to that man?
Maria left the restaurant without paying for their order. She was the first to leave, as the mysterious man watched her.
I took out my wallet and some bills, which I placed on the table. The man stood up, walked away from their table.
I rose from my seat and followed that man. I had no idea we had entered a dark alley. He appears to be aware that I am following him, so he goes straight.
"Smartass," I said as I turned onto a narrower road. I proceeded directly to the front street where the man had passed. I was leaning against a dark wall. I took a look around and pulled out my handgun. I chewed my gum in my mouth while waiting for him. I saw a shadow from a distance, but it also had a gun in his hand.
"It appears that I am not the only one who is observant here," I said as I walked in the light. He puffs on his cigarette before tossing it to the ground. He stepped on it and turned to face me. He appears to be in his mid-twenties, far too young to be murdered tonight.
His raspy voice echoed in the alley, "Why are you following me?" It made me shiver, but I played it well, demonstrating to him that it had no effect on me.
"What did Maria give you? Hahahaha, are you on the enemies' side?" I inquired directly. He chuckled darkly and shook his head.
"It doesn't matter to you, and if I'm an enemy, I already killed you the first time we met," he retorted, his meanings unclear to me. Is he telling me we've already met? f**k, these perplexing words of others will kill me.
I pointed my gun at him, and he pointed his gun back. We surrounded each other, each attempting to dominate the other.
"You still don't know who I am, Matthew," he said, astounded me.
"How did you find out my name?" I inquired.
"Simple as you are Don's right hand man, you are not popular as fuck."
"Is it a compliment? Hahaha am I that famous for you to meet me. Pfffttttttt Don't follow me; go back into your shell," he said. Why would I do such a thing? I spent my free time following them, and now he wants me to let him escape in my hands? Oh, this adorable and dashing fmy bodyguard? Never.
"And who do you think you are to order me to do that? You're not my don, so why would I follow your orders? Oh f**k this shit."
My fingers were itching to shoot him, but something was holding me back. Is this a connection or something else?
"I believe that if you shoot me, Jeiah will be unhappy and will hate you and Blast even more; if I shoot and kill you now, she will hate me as well; you know, it's better for both of us to let go of each other."
"Wow, so romantic to think about letting go and surrendering to people. This isn't a love story dude, and I'm sorry to say but I have no idea who Jeiah you're talking about." I raised my brows, still connecting the information he's giving. I think I'm going to need a lifeline to answer this nonsense.
"Hahahaha, you're so naive, Matthew; I knew you knew Callixta's true identity, but I didn't realize Don, the right hand of pack members, was a fool."
"I'm not a fool, Mr. Who are you in her life?" I asked when it hit me. Maybe he's right, my mind rusts. I slid my gun back into my waistband, pointing it down. That's why I was having second thoughts about shooting him. He chuckled before putting his gun away as well.
"I only met that girl in Jeiah's order; if you want to know what's inside the folder, ask her if you met soon." He smirked as he walked away from me.
"f**k, what is Callixta planning right now?" I murmured in the air before returning to the parking lot where I had left my car. I checked my wristwatch, and it was already late afternoon. I once again squandered my time and effort for nothing. Please provide me with medal for that argh.
