I don't know what I'm saying nor acting that day. I was surprised that I can't even remember a single thing. My last memory is when the doctor left my room and he used a liquid medicine using syringe in my shoulder.
I cried for another ten minutes privately having mental instability because of what's happening lately. I find it hard to cope up and digest in this such situations. I heard a few knocks so I immediately tried to compose myself. I badly wanted to talk to him. I may look desperate, but it was really devastating and heart breaking not knowing what's the state of my child. Of my baby. And my welfare. What will happen a out my wolf? How will I tame it?
A lot of questions roaming my mind but I still can't figure out the answers for myself.
"You can lend me your phone right now," I said calmly, looking at him. He raised his brows but said nothing, instead reaching into his jacket pocket and pulling out a branded and newly released phone.
I looked at him with suspicion, but he just stared at me. I was simply too curious.
"Uhm, I forgot, I don't have his phone number," I shrugged, scratching my chin. He rolled his eyes at me before scrolling through his phone's screen and searching Greyson's name, which was there.
"How did you obtain his phone number?" I was intrigued, but after my bodyguard looked at me, I abruptly closed my talkative mouth.
In this situation, it's better to remain silent.
I dialed his phone number, and it rang. My hand began to tremble, with half of me praying that he would answer the call and the other half praying that he would not. However, the line went dead after a few rings.
I tried again for the nth time, and thankfully, he responded.
“Hello?
" It wasn't him, but Matthew."
"Matthew," I muttered. I heard a few curses from him in the background, and he walked away from the noises.
"How are you, Calli?" Where have you gone? " He asked, but my bodyguard walks in front of me, glaring at me as if if I said anything, he'll snatch the phone already.
"It doesn't matter. "I want to talk to him," I said quietly so no one could hear the c***k of my tears.
"He's now in reception." How are you doing? What about the child? Danica is concerned about you. What got into your head, and how did you get away from us? " He expressed his distress.
"I'm fine, Matthew, and please tell Danica." "About the baby." I cut myself off in the middle of a sentence to make it more interesting and truthful.
"And what about my godson?"
" He almost yelled, but quickly lowered his voice.
"That's right, Matthew. Please assist me in talking to him," I begged, sniffing to make him feel guilty. I need this, and I knew he was vulnerable to a girl's tears.
"OK, I'm not going to promise you anything, but I'll do my best to inform him." He's surrounded by various people and some relatives of that Angel." He mentioned the name disgustingly. I chuckled but quickly stopped. I need to appear pitiful to him so that he will assist me in speaking with Gray. Sorry, Matthew, but I need to clear things up.
"OK, here's the plan. Please do not end the call; I will walk in his direction. Do you follow? ”
"Aye, captain," I saluted, drawing another roll of my bodyguard's eyes.
I turned on the loudspeaker, hearing noises from different voices' chitchats. Best wishes to the newlyweds.
I wrinkled my nose, disgusted by what I was hearing.
I motioned to my bodyguard to be quiet, and he raised his two hands in surrender. I waited until Matthew indicated that he was close to Greyson.
There was a clattering of glasses before I heard his voice. His deep tone of voice. To keep myself from talking, I bite the insides of my cheeks. my bodyguard handed me the tissue box, which I gratefully accepted. But his voice faded away quickly, like air.
"Hi, Matthew." "Long time no see," a flirtatious female voice said, eliciting an awkward cough from him.
I had to stop myself from laughing because Matthew's fmy bodyguard couldn't be drawn right now.
"Where have you been?" " Danica's voice cut in the background.
"Hello, Nics!" "I need to talk to you," he said as he walked. I can hear a grumpy protest from the woman who flirted with Matthew's. I shook my head, unable to believe what I was witnessing.
"Where is Greyson?" "I need to talk to him," he began solemnly.
"He's in his room with the higher-ups. Actually, I'm here to pick you up because you're needed there," Danica explained. I heard smacking, followed by Matthew's small grunts. I bite my lower lip, trying hard not to laugh. This is far too much! Even when I'm in a bad mood, they make me laugh. I can't believe it.
my bodyguard gave me the look that said he thought I was insane. I stick my tongue out at him and return my focus to the phone.
I heard footsteps and a door open again.
"Matthew, I've been looking for you in reception, but I can't find you," Alex explained.
"Sorry, bud, I need to take an important call," he explained.
"Matthew," the voice screamed with authority, and even though I was listening on the phone, my body shivered.
"Don," he explained. I can hear his footsteps approaching.
"May I speak with you for a moment?"
" Matthew said, but I'm sure it was in hushed tones.
"Not now, Matthew. "I need to talk to everyone and then go back outside," Greyson said emphatically. He cleared his throat, and the entire room fell silent except for the song playing in the reception area, which reached up to the rooms.
"I called you all to inform you that our plans will be altered. I'll request your presence in the mansion again tomorrow," he added.
“Why?
" Matthew inquired, his voice trembling with confusion and astonishment.
"We lost one of our my bodyguards against the Monteverde's," Gray explained.
I could hear faint conversations from others, but I focused on the two men talking.
"What exactly do you mean? DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE CALLI! " Matthew shoots, half-yelling. I can feel the tension rising throughout the room. The voices died away, and the room returned to silence. I flinched in surprise as a glass was thrown somewhere.
"AND WHAT RIGHT DO YOU HAVE TO QUESTION ME, HUH?!
" Greyson exclaimed as footsteps approached the phone. The background was filled with gasps.
"I WOULD LIKE TO REMIND YOU, Matthew, THAT I AM STILL THE DON OF THIS MAFIA!" YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO QUESTION ME OR RAISE YOUR VOICE! " He yelled, followed by the audible crash of someone in a table. The phone also made a sound as if it had been flipped.
"I understand my position and who you are." But please keep in mind that she is still pregnant. She's carrying your child, and the Don I know would never put a child, even if it was his blood." I hear Matthew calmly explain his side, but still fighting what he believes.
"You harmed her. You duped her. In front of her, you pretended. And now you're going to say you intended to use her as bait for his father? "HAHAHA," Matthew exclaimed. The confession causes my eyes to widen.
“Yes! I pretended from the beginning that I liked her. I deceived and hurt her, but it was insufficient in comparison to what the Bells and Monteverdes had done to me and our mafia!
How could you forget? Or has that girl poisoned your mind as well? Greyson chuckled sarcastically.
My tears flowed again, and I sobbed uncontrollably, but I managed to stop myself. I need to hear everything so I can move on. Yes, this is the conclusion I was looking for. I wish it didn't end like this.
"It's not her fault, Blast. It's her father's fault." And I just wanted to let you know that she called earlier, and she's crying because of what's going on. But I can't do anything except help her talk to you, and it appears she didn't deserve to be taken advantage of. She's broken, but you've broken her even further. You did more to break her than anyone else.
All she wants to say is that she fled with your child. ALL YOU f*****g DID WAS KILL YOUR OWN CHILD BY DOING THOSE f*****g NONSENSE REVENGE IN YOUR MIND!" Matthew yelled, his voice cracking.
"She's fragile and innocent, Gray. I hope you saw the pureness of her heart that you decided to turn stone-cold. I hope you're happy now, marrying the true devil. Good luck and best wishes to both of you."
I couldn't hold back my tears any longer. I covered my fmy bodyguard with my hands, trying to wipe away my emotions.
"I'm sorry, Calli. "I'm so sorry," Matthew said over the phone. I can hear his silent sobs.
"No, it's not a problem. You don't have to say that. I even have to thank you for everything. Thank you, as well as Danica, for becoming the family I wished for. Thank you for your help, and I apologize for any inconvenience. " I sighed.
"If there's anything I can do to make you feel better or anything you want me to do to you," he said softly.
"I want you to do something for me, my best friend."
"What is it?"
”
"Please forget my thoughts, and if we meet again, please consider us enemies," I struggle to tell him.
"I can't do that, Calli. You seem to like my little sister. If we ever meet again, please hug me and tell me about your life."
"Until next time, then."
"Until next time, I love you as a friend," he chuckled.
"I love you as a friend, Matthew." Please look after Danica and inform her of what happened. "Bye," I said, with a sad smile, bidding farewell to an old friend, to those people.
"The next time I meet the Scorpions on the battlefield, I'll make sure the lesson I learned in the mansion serves as my weapon to bring them down," I told myself.
"I knew someone who could assist you. "Change your clothes, and I'll introduce you to him," my bodyguard said angrily. When I looked at him, he smirked deviously.
