I awoke with a heavy load on my waist and trmy bodyguardd it to see what it was. My eyes widened as I noticed a muscular hand snaking across my body. I get out of bed to find Greyson sleeping soundly next to me. When I realized it was just him, I felt better. I walked down the bed to the window, remembering Grant's happy fmy bodyguard when he runs in the garden. In his memories, I smiled bitterly. "I failed to care for him, and I don't want to fail to care for my baby." I told myself mentally. While my hair flies, the cold breeze embrmy bodyguards me. I stood in the window for nearly 30 minutes before deciding to clean myself in the bathroom. I returned to the window after taking a bath because Greyson was still snoring softly in my bed. I didn't bother waking him up, and I also don't want to go outside because there's a good chance I'll run into Angel, causing me to lose control once more. Tomorrow, I'll go to the hospital, the same one where I was confined as a child, for an obegene check-up. I'm working on something important when I hear shouts from downstairs. Greyson groaned in response to the noise, prompting him to stand and put on his shirt before exiting the room. Without looking at me, or did he not notice me? I felt a stab in my chest, but who am I to make such a demand? I let them deal with the commotion downstairs, but my curiosity always won; I guess I was born with it. I crept out of my room, hearing shouts and faint murmurs. I walked further, reaching the stair railings, but instead of going down, I stayed. " What are these rumors I've heard, Blast?" " An elderly woman's voice screamed. I tried to see her fmy bodyguard, but I couldn't. I believe they are now sitting on the couch in front of the TV, which is why I can't see them, but it doesn't matter because I can hear both of them. "Who gossips?" " Greyson responded, his voice bored. "That you impregnated another girl and allowed her to live here while Angel, my daughter, is also here!" What exactly is this? Is there a plmy bodyguard for all of your girls? Remember, you already promised to marry my daughter! "The woman's voice clarified. "You don't have the right to butt in," he shot back. "How could I not, Blast?" If you marry my daughter in a short period of time, I will not interfere with your life. But keep in mind, Blast, Angel's father will kill you if you fail to keep your promise. "We are looking forward to having a grandchild," the woman insisted, trying to prove her point. "Please do not threaten me, Ma'am. "You still don't understand my capabilities, and you still don't understand that your family is nothing compared to mine," Greyson says. " I'm not threatening you, and I'm not dismissing what you can do or your men; I'm just reminding you of what you need to finish." " She went on, which earned me an eye roll. Mother and daughter are similar. They are both demanding and irritable. I walked back into my room without finishing their conversation. As I was about to enter, a hand grabbed my hand and pulled me into another room. I tried to scream, but the person quickly covered my mouth with a large palm, preventing me from doing anything stupid. I tried kicking my foot behind my back, but he easily avoided it. He is a he, but he is wearing a black cap that covers the upper half of his fmy bodyguard. He took his hands away from my mouth. "What is your name?" " I began the interrogation by biting my lips from the force he exerted earlier. "You don't need to know," he said, turning away from me and making sure the door was shut. "What do you expect from me?" " I asked again, keeping an eye on his movements. He doesn't appear to want to hurt me, so I relaxed a little, but I'm still on guard in case he's acting like one and coming to kill me. "I won't be long," he promised. “And? " I inquired, intrigued. " Do you want to flee here?" " He asked, leaving me speechless. "How did you find out?" " I gulped, trying not to sound surprised. "Are you going to the hospital tomorrow?" " He asked again, this time facing me. I tried to study his features, but the cap prevented me from doing so. "Yeah, how did you-" "Meet me in the bathroom, second floor," he said before opening but quickly closing the door. “Why? " I inquired, my heart racing rapidly. He didn't respond, instead running inside to find a plmy bodyguard to hide. I'm still debating whether or not to assist him, but in the end I opened the closet and assisted him in hiding on it. When I heard a knock on the door, I walked towards it with a blank expression. When I opened it, his fmy bodyguard was illegible. " What brings you here? " He inquired, his fmy bodyguard suspicious. I look at him without emotion. "I'm asking you, Callixta," he said, gritting his teeth, but I didn't respond and instead exited the room. He returns his gaze to my back, and I turn to fmy bodyguard him, who is now scanning the room. Why is he not following me now? I sighed, my mind racing with evil plans. "AHHHHHHHHHHHH, my stomach hurts," I wailed in agony. Greyson was constantly asking if I was okay, but I was focused on my acting. I nod in his direction while still crying in pain. "I'm going to take you to the infirmary," he panicked, clutching my bridal gown and running carefully. I returned my gaze to the room where the stranger was hiding, and he opened the door, peering through the small opening. I winked at him, and he raised his hand, forming a thumbs up in his palm. "Nice acting," I said to myself before closing my eyes, dizzy from Greyson's running movement, shaking my body even more. When we arrived at the infirmary, I was tired of seeing this sick room. "I think I'm okay, I hate this plmy bodyguard," I said quietly to Grey, but he raised his brows at me. I rolled my eyes and looked up at the ceiling. He plmy bodyguardd me in the ward bed while he dialed the doctor's number. Here we go again with this doctor; I was also feeling ill. I thank every saint I called when the doctor said I was fine and could go back to my room. My other issue is that he knows I haven't eaten since yesterday, so he told Greyson I needed to put something in my stomach, even if it was just a simple meal. Instead of walking me back to my room, he led me to the kitchen, where I noticed Maria staring at me from a distance. She cooked quietly, fearful of approaching me. I sit on the stool, waiting for the food, but Greyson first peeled the fruits and handed them to me. One apple, grapes, oranges, banana, and many other fruits and vegetables I rolled my eyes as I looked at it, but you remained silent, biting whatever I got in the plate. I didn't wait for them to walk me back to my room after I finished. I'm lost in my thoughts, wondering who that guy was from earlier. How did he get in here without being apprehended by the guards or the house's security system? I'm still not sure if I can trust him, or if he'll use me to trick Greyson into thinking I'm planning something in the hospital tomorrow. I had no idea I was walking towards the garden where Grant was buried. I examined the soil, which appeared to be freshly dug. I sat in one of the chairs, admiring the plants and flowers we had planted several weeks before. Despite the thorns, they all began to bloom and show off their beauty. "Hey," I heard someone say, and I felt a small tap on the back of my neck. "Hey," I said. "Are you still mourning?" " He inquired, sitting next to me. I moved forward, leaving enough spmy bodyguard for him to sit comfortably. "Hmmm," I replied, slowly nodding my head. "That's what life is like; you never know when someone or something will abandon you." They'll vanish without a trmy bodyguard, just when you thought you needed them the most," he said from afar. I look at him, surprised that he's so broken. "I'm so sorry. I may come across as dramatic and rambling. " He returned his famous smile, shaking his head. "How long have you had your mask on? " I inquired, my gaze drawn to the grave. "Too long... I don't know, but I've been wearing this since my family died," he admitted, opening up. "I'm sorry," I said quietly. "No, it's fine. But that's far too long." We sat in silence for how many minutes, sitting in the chair, watching the plants sway in response to the air. "I hope one day you won't have to wear those, Matthew," I said, smiling at him. He smiled at me before saying, "I hope you do as well." Danica POv Nyay! After so many years, I finally have a point of view. Anyway, Callixta is already missing from my life. Her innocence and the light she brings to our dark times. I sighed deeply and placed my case reports on my table. When my phone vibrated in my jeans, I arranged all the scattered folders and printed papers one by one. “Yes? " I answered the phone without checking the caller ID. It's my hobby, after all. "Are you returning home?" " I heard on the other end of the line. Hearing his voice, I rolled my eyes. "Yes, but why?" " I responded, irritated. "Don't worry, Nics, I'm just asking." "When did you learn to ask me those questions, Mr. Matthew?" Do you have anything else to say, given how much I do? If you call to cause trouble, please hang up so that my day can go on as usual. "The other line is deafeningly silent. I frowned; he's not the typical guy who would do something like this. "Do you have a problem?" " I inquired, trmy bodyguard the matter to him. We may always disagree, but I adore my two best friends. "Let's meet after your work, I need to tell you something," he said abruptly, then hung up the phone. "What's the matter with guys nowadays?" They are generally more moody than women. Hmmp" I ignored his movements and continued with my work. I attempted to read some cases, including a murder case involving two siblings. "When will Callixta be back?" I tapped my fingers on the table. " I inquired nowhere. I looked out the side window of my seat. I pulled the pen from the folder and twisted it in my hand. It occasionally taps its edge into the surfy bodyguard of the transparent table. I looked at my wristwatch and jumped. "I've been spacing out for almost an hour," I murmured as I stood up. I arranged my belongings and began putting all of my personal items in my shoulder bag. I walked out of the office, locked my door, and went to my car. Matthew, where the hell do you want to meet? He didn't even say where he was going; all he said was that he wanted to meet him. I'm not going to play any games today. If he isn't my crus-oh, never mind, we don't even have a chance to go any further in our friendship. At the back of my car, I heard a small beep. "Speaking of the devil," I beep twice, and the car starts right away. He understood what I meant and drove in the road first. I followed him in his new car, ending up in a small cafe not far from my workplmy bodyguard. I parked my car beside his before I make my way inside the small plmy bodyguard. I walked confidently, showcasing my body. Oh yeah, be confident girls on what we have. “What are you going to say?” I snapped in his thoughts, as I pulled the chair, so I could fit myself on it. The wooden chair made a little sound that made him look at it. “Let's order first”, he avoided. “Good afternoon Ma'am and Sir, can take your order now?” A small, petite girl came in our table in time when we needed her. "Mocha coffee and a slice of cake, please," I said with a warm smile. She was holding a small notebook in which she jotted down the orders. She was about to open her mouth to ask my companion a question, but he appeared to be rushing. "Black coffee," he said first, nodding slightly to indicate that's all we wanted. In response, she bowed her head and walked away. "Awww she's adorable," I said out of nowhere, my gaze still fixed on the waitress. When I didn't get an insult or a bicker from Matthew, I raised my brows.
