Ariella POV
I regained my conciousness as I tried moving my body from the soft mattress but…
—there's a huge and heavy thing clinging to the curves of my waist. I opened my eyes in an attempt to saw what it was but my sight only darkened by the night. I rubbed my eyes before moving both my arms to reach my waist. I traced the thing and my forehead knotted. This isn't a thing! It's hot and hairy and…
I jumped off the bed when realization hit me. It's a human! I am ready to scream when I heard a familiar voice.
“It's me.” A familiar groggy voice spoke deeply. I gulped feeling relieved and sighed. “S-sorry”, I mumbled shyly. Perhaps he wasn't human at all. I mumbled at myself.
I heard a click and the lamp shade lit up. I saw Dion's hands near it as he stretches his hand back his side. I slowly go back on the bed giving him and me a space. He's rubbing his eyes and lazily dragged his body to sit and lean half of his upper body on the head board.
I take away my eyes on him out of awkwardness and look at myself. New clothes, new night I opened my eyes in a different room because I passed out again for the nth time. I sighed loudly that made Dion looked at me and asked, “a penny for your thoughts?”
I smiled at him weakly and replied, “isn't it funny how many times I ended up unconcious?” I flashed him a weak smile and he chuckled a bit. The sound of his voice vibrates in his esophagus and moving his adams apple made him perfunctory sexy. Added by his messy hair and his topless body screaming muscles and fitness. I didn't bother getting off my eyes on him, instead I met his dark eyes now staring at me too. I saw how his jaw tightened and the air started to heavy.
“Aheemmm”, I coughed fakely dried and Dion seemed to be back to his normal state. I heard him cuss whispering in the air. I raised my brows at him to ask why but he shook his head at me. I, once again, look at his body, checking if he has wounds or any scratches but it only made him irritated.
“Eyes on me, milady.” his husky voice came out his perfect lips as I shamelessly stared at his. I groaned when I felt my lower lip bloodied, unconsciously bited it.
“Ariella”, Dion's voice boomed the whole room with a warning. I played with my hands and take down my eyes on him. “I'm not doing anything.” I played innocent, taking a glance at him with a small smile. He sighed and tapped the bed beside him. I raised my brows at him sending him a question what he means.
“I'm dusting off”, he sarcastically replied, rolling his eyes. He rolled in the bed downward as my eyes catched a glow in the corner of the window with a thick curtain. I looked closely trying to figure it out because it looks like someone's eyes watching us. Before I could stand, I felt a hand touched my wrist and pulled me in the bed that made me screamed.
“AHHHH—hmmmp.” His huge palm covered my mouth and I used all my effort to get of it. He seemed to notice my uncomfortability and decided to let go of me, “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you”. His voice tone lowered and I gasped some air. My heart beats faster than normal and I can't explain the nervousness I felt when I checked the window and the eye glowed red. What the hell.
“You okay?” Dion checked on me and I nod my head in response. I couldn't use my mouth and tongue to form a word. “You look pale.” He commented and his fingers reached my forehead to feel if I'm still sick. I raised my eyes at him and I shake my head again, “I-I'm f-fine. Maybe I'm tired, that's all.” He looks worried yet he released a deep breath before nodding his head. He sits on the bed and I almost panicked seeing him taking out his comforter.
“Where are you going?” I asked with small voice trying not to show my anxiety.
“I'll sleep next door to give you privacy.” He replied casually and was about to go down the bed when I leaned and reached his hand. An electric power was sent to my skin when I touched him but I didn't have time to notice it. “No, it's fine. You can stay here.” I mumbled shyly, bowing my head so he couldn't see my face. ”You can sleep better if I weren't here.” he replied back that made me feel nervous to tell him the truth.
“Stay, please.” I looked up at him using my saddest face that I used to my bestfriend when I wanted to get something. I hope that it works at him too.
He closed his eyes and massaged the bridge of his nose before he sit back on the bed comfortably. “You sure it's fine if I sleep here?” he asked again. I nod my head and lay on the tip corner of the bed putting the two of us space. I glance again at the window and it came back into normal. There's no one in there.
“I don't bite, Ariella. You are putting too much space and laying too far. I can't catch you when you fell on the ground.” Dion said. I move a little bit closer my back facing him. I pulled the blanket all over my body, showing my head only. I didn't wait for him to sleep as darkness already envade my system.
….
I woke up in the morning with hands clinging on my waist and a hot breath touching my neck. I stayed a few minutes closing my eyes and letting everything sink and think deeply.
How can I get away Dion's hold when he's sleeping peacefully?! I shouted mentally to myself. I opened my eyes and looked at his sleeping state. I hardly move to avoid awakening him up but failed when he moves, pulling me closer and tighter in his body. Butterflies in my stomach started to have party from the heat he gaves me.
I felt him moving that's why I closed my eyes in an instant to pretend I am still sleeping. “Good morning, gorgeous”, he greeted but I remained silent. I heard him chuckled and he spoke again, “I know you are already awake, Ariella.” I gulped feeling ashamed of what I did.
I slowly opened my eyes and splash a smile at him. I dragged my body away to avoid his stares and dragged the blanket to cover my face.
“Morning”, I mumbled under my breath as I heard him chuckled again. I felt the bed lowered by his movements and the surroundings fell silent. I concluded that he already moved and went away but when I lowered the blanket over my head, I felt a huge hand pulled the piece of fabric on my face and throw it somewhere. I screamed out of shock and tried to get away. Dion gently hold my hand and locked me in his arms.
“Dion, stop!” I acted angry but his fingers reached my side ticking it resulting me to laugh. “Hahahaha stopppppp. Dion, please. Stopppp HAHAHAHAHA.” I requested between my breathes still trying to roll over the soft bed sheets. “Hahaha you are so adorable pretending to be asleep when in fact I can sense you.” He revealed, still not stopping his tickling session on my body. Air almost leave my body when I felt his fingers away from my skin.
Our eyes landed at the door when a knock was heard followed by a thin voice from the slaves. “Good morning Ma'am and Sir, breakfast is ready.” she said flatly. Dion cleared his throat and fixed himself before he replied, “come in”, in a serious and authoritative voice.
The door opened and a woman wearing a maid clothes come in pushing a cart. The cart has plates of foods on top while being covered by a round stainless with a small handle located on the center of it.
“Your food sir”, the woman bowed and Dion nods at her. “Leave it there and you may now go.” He coldly commanded which the woman followed humbly.
I ponytailed my hair in a bun and we waited for the slave to come out of the door before we moved again. “When did you ordered food here?” I curiously asked him, getting down the bed and go straight the bathroom. He smirked at me while pulling off the covers of the food trays and said, “mindlink”.
I splashed a water over my face, leaning on the sink watching my face. Am I dreaming of what I've seen last night? Lost in thoughts, I haven't realized I spent long time staring on myself. I touched my reflection on the mirror and my eyes rounded in shock. “What the hell is this?” I whispered on my own. The mirror is a portal. The glass dissolves and my fingers stretched to touch it was invisibly unseen by my naked eye.
“Ariella”, the door cracked open leading me to take back my arms away the mirror. “Are you okay?” Dion inquired, knitting his brows and checking me head to toe, then roaming his eyes around the room. I swallowed a lump and nods my head together with affirmation to him, “I'm fine. Sorry to make you wait.” I smiled at him forcefully and he pushed the door widely so I could come out. I picked a towel and wiped it on my face before I followed him outside.
We are silently while I can't still process what had happened. I am afraid to tell Dion what I've seen and experienced last night and today. I'm afraid I'm hallucinating too just because I've been unconscious for how many times and I'm still adjusting on their environment and in this place.
“I'll be late tonight. Dad assigned me in the borders to patrol after what had happed last time.” Dion opened up and I just nod at him. “You'll be okay here, right? Don't go anywhere, I assigned one of the slaves of the pack to serve you.” he added.
“No need to give me a slave”, I insisted while shoving the food in my plate. “I will not come out of this room.” I seconded.
“It's for your own good and other pack members still don't know who you are to me so there's possiblity that you might be in danger again.” He growled, “you'll be having a slave and a body guard outside. No room for discussion, Ariella.” He seriously eyes me with a challenging eyes. I rolled my eyes at him and never spoke up again until the breakfast was done. Dion went out after the meal and a slave and a guard were outside the room.
I decided to sleep afterwards in the king size soft bed that pulls me into a heavenly darkness. I found myself being drown into it.
“Ariella”
“Ariella”
A soft voice suddenly wakes me up in slumber and my hair stands all over my body scaring the hell out of me.
“Ouch”, I groaned in pain when I punched a small portion of my skin to wake me up in case I'm still dreaming.
“Ariella, come to me. I am the truth and the door of realization. Come to me, Ariella.” the voice continues and I looked to my left and right to find where the voice came from. I brought all of my courage to stand up barefoot down the bed.
“Ariella, come here. I'm here.”
I was thrown backward hearing another voice startling. “W-who a-are y-you?” I bravely asked. I waited for an answer but I got none.
“Ariella, Ariella. It's me, the truth and the door of realization.” My feet lead me to one place—the bathroom. My fingers numbingly touched the knob shaking from nervousness and fear. The c***k of the door adds creepiness to the environment as my heart pounding loudly in my ribcage, wanting to escape the feeling of the situation.
I released a deep exhale before turning the knob and pushed it a little to look inside. My eyes fixed on one thing—the mirror.
There's a woman in the mirror.
