"Um, none, but I can design one or apply, right?" "Or maybe after I change my name," I suggested. "It's up to you, Ariella. And I'll help you find a place to stay. We have a location where our other pack members can hide without being tracked down by enemies or even other packs and rogues. That's where your mother was supposed to go, but she didn't make it. It's an island, and everything you need is already there; supplies and food arrive every half-month, so you needed a little patience and a different approach to survival, but I knew you were strong and brave like your mother." "Thank you for everything, Jones." "There's nothing to be thankful for, Ariella. Your mother has previously assisted me greatly, so I'm just returning the favor. If you want to go to your mother's grave, I can contact Ace on your behalf. He'll take you there, but you and he need to be extra cautious." "That's a great idea, and thank you; we'll be careful, Toff," I replied. "You can call me uncle," he said, smiling at me. What I heard made my eyes well up, and I had to hug him. He tapped my shoulder a few times before we parted ways. A small buzz came from the door. "Ace has arrived; remember what I said. Your ex mate still see you as a hot commodity. Though the cemetery is reserved for pack members only, I cannot guarantee their loyalty. "They could be rats in the line," he said before standing and walking towards the door, which he opened. Ace walks in with a cold stare on his face but says nothing to me. " You can go whenever you want, but Ace, please keep me updated on what's going on." Ariella, hurry up, we can't afford to lose you again," Toffy said before releasing her. Ace gives him a salute before closing the metal door. We were both quite walking in the corridor again when I decided to go now. We got to the end, and Ace pressed codes that revealed an elevator. They've got an elevator here! This is one inventive underground. We entered it without saying anything, but it was a comfortable silence that made me think and collect my thoughts for a few minutes. He pressed the top floor, and we began to move forward. The elevator ding indicated that we had arrived at our destination. When it opened, I was taken aback by the size of the room, which was filled with glass windows. The lake can be seen from here. This looked like a rest stop or a dock house. "Some Dion members are still patrolling the entire area; we require their assistance." "I understand," I said as I walked out of the room. We rode in a thickly tinted van; it will be doubtful, but there is nothing we can do to protect ourselves. Ace was driving, and I was standing to one side, staring at our path. After a few minutes, we arrived at a private cemetery; there were very few people buried here, so I was confident we'd find my mother quickly. I was about to open the car door when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to face my neighbor... "You need this," he said before I could even open my mouth, handing me a hooded black jacket. "Thank you," I said quickly, accepting it. Before getting out of the car, I quickly put on the hood. I noticed a cleaner not far away, but I questioned his actions after they had become our habit. I came to a halt and waited for Ace to join him. Ace sensed my fear and grabbed my wrist, pulling me toward a grave. "This isn't my mom," I reprimanded her, but she covered my mouth, preventing me from continuing my speech. "They'd know if we stayed in your mother's grave." In response, I nodded my head and tapped his hand to remove it, which he did. " What are our plans? " I inquired, raising my brows. "You should stay here and pretend you're paying a visit to this grave." "I'm going to take care of that man first," he said. I pretended to cry in front of a buried stranger, and I noticed how curious he was as I looked at him. "I'm missing you, Mom!" Why did you abandon me so soon? My siblings are still young, you know. "I'm having trouble working for their milkmen," I cried, expecting the man to hear. When I saw the name of the person in the pit, I almost burst into tears. "Allesandro," I said quietly, reading his name. I just covered my mouth, and I think I said daddy instead of mommy. I returned my gaze to the man's direction, but he was no longer there; he had also left his cleaning supplies scattered across the lawn. Trembling gripped my chest, as if something in my mind begged me to flee and never return. I looked around for Ace but couldn't find him. When I felt a cold hand grip my shoulder, I panicked. "AHHHHHHHHHH !!!!"
