"Hey, my baby," I said, my eyes worried, trying not to cry in this situation.
He took hold of the steering wheel and swung it to the right side of the road. We collided with the barrier that protects the vehicle from falling into the lake. The car shook from the impact, but he dragged it backward before accelerating in front of us, causing us to dive into the water inside. He stepped forward, hugging me to protect his body with mine. As we came to a halt in the deep bottom of the lake, the entire vehicle was filled with water. He opened the car door and dragged me out, swimming away from the vehicle.
If this were another time or situation, I would kill him, but I need this right now. He let me go before pulling me back in, as I swam in the dark beside the lake. Surprisingly, it wasn't as deep as I expected. He came to a halt in front of something I couldn't see due to the darkness. Something lit up in the wall, and he pressed a keyboard, revealing a vast aquarium-like interior inside the metal wall. He drew me inside before pressing something else into the wall. I was correct; it was a massive aquarium, and I pushed myself upwards in order to ascend. I swam closer to a ladder, chasing my breath. I climbed wearily as I approached the railings in the water.
"What exactly is this?" " I inquired, climbing. There are a few people waiting for us, each handing him and me a towel.
"Welcome to both of you," an elderly man said.
"Congratulations, Agent my bodyguard, you've completed your mission," he said, tapping the stranger on the back.
So, my bodyguard is his name, huh? And, wait a minute, he's an agent?
"Wait, you're a real estate agent?"
" I asked my bodyguard, grabbing his hands and turning him to fmy bodyguard me.
"Yes," he said quickly AGAIN. I was getting annoyed by his responses, but I kept my cool.
" Why did you assist me in escaping? What are your true motives? " I half-yelled, addressing him directly.
" Calm down, Ariella. They will explain it to you.” He said pointing to the people standing watching us.
I cast a glance at them.
“M-Ariella? What exactly are you saying? " I asked frantically, looking at them one by one.
"You should change your clothes first, it will be bad for your baby's health," the elderly man advised. "Agent Alicia, please guide Ariella in Agent's 101 rooms," he added.
"Please follow me," a woman in her twenties said.
I had no idea what was going on, but I just followed because I was shivering in the cold.
I followed the girl as she walked through the underground tunnel, dressed in a full black suit similar to what I'd seen agents wear in movies.
I admired her back and posture while walking; she appeared to be well-trained.
She came to a halt in front of the metal door before using password combinations to open it. She let me in first, then she followed. I had no idea an underground could be so beautiful. A white-themed room greeted me, complete with various weapons and a king-size bed in the center of the room. The lights bring life to the darkness, allowing us to see in this location.
The woman cleared her throat, drawing my attention to her.
"The closet is open; take whatever you want." And you have the ability to change their." She said this before walking sideways to give me room. I went into the closet and chose some comfortable clothes. I saw a simple white dress and grabbed it, then selected undergarments.
When I entered the room, she pointed out where I could change. I didn't mind the water dripping on me.
I'm wearing a white dress that hugs my body and reveals the small bump in my stomach. I noticed some girly items in the room and decided to use them. I comb my hair and let it fall to the back of my neck. I exited the room to find Alicia standing in her plmy bodyguard.
"Come in, young lady," the elderly man said.
I walked in their direction, still aware of my surroundings. I take a seat next to my bodyguard, but he remains seated. I'm curious why people here don't speak long or don't mind others.
"I'm glad you're back now," the elderly man said.
I knitted my brows; I'm not sure what he's talking about, but he seemed to know who I am.
"Who are you?" I inquired.
"My name is Toffy Jones, and I'm the manager of this agency," he explained. "Ask as many questions as you want; I'm happy to tell you the story, especially about your late mother." " He went on, which made my breathing quicken.
“Y-you k-know my mother? My true mother?” I asked. I can't describe my feeling, but I can't stop my tears flowing. Blame the hormones again! I wanted to meet my family but as what he said, late mother, so she already left me in this world? A felt a pang in my chest. I saw a tissue offered in front of me that I gladly accepted, wiping my tears.
