“Help me out,” Lauren said as Jacob and I hurried to where she was standing. Jacob took the lady from Lauren and laid her on the floor. “She is badly wounded and needs to be treated immediately,” Lauren said and I looked at Travis who was still standing on the same spot.
“Travis, you have to help,” I told him but he didn’t move an inch. His face was covered in shock and his eyes were still on the lady.
“Travis!” Lauren scolded him. Her voice was both sharp and filled with grief. “This is not the time. So snap out of it and go get the first aid kit,” she said. He hesitated a while and afterward ran off.
