My head was still resting on Travis’s shoulder when I realized he stopped moving. He gently removed his hand from my back and looked into my eyes. But this time his eyes were different.
The lovely gaze was gone, and it was only then I realized what I had said.
“What is this Isabella?”
“Travis I am sorry, I didn't mean it like that,” I tried to touch him but he wouldn't let me.
“I am trying to say my goodbyes. I am finding it difficult to do it, but all you can think of is Derek.”
“Please Travis.”
“Don't do that Isabella,” he shook his head in disbelief. His eyes were deeply sad. “I thought this would be the one special thing we had together, but you ruined it. Somehow Derek still managed to chip his way into your memory.”
