Lusia
Morning couldn’t come any sooner. I never thought that I would be relieved to see the sight of the morning light that bathed the room. I was lying on the king-sized bed with my eyes wide open. It had been that way for the last four hours. I couldn't shut my eyes or get any sleep. I was busy thinking, contemplating how I got myself into this mess.
It shouldn’t have been this way. I shouldn’t have to worry about running away because I just got here, but I was wrong. I wanted to go back to the Silvermoon pack. I never thought I would think about this. Even though I had gone through a lot there, it was much better than this. At least I wouldn’t have to be worried about the Lycan king and what he was going to do to me the next time he walked in through that door.
His last words last night had been terrifying. It made my mind race all through the remaining hours of the night. I feared for my life. Maybe I overestimated his kindness because of the way he had handled me in his car. I was delusional enough to think that he would care for me like I was someone important. But I was a tool. It was a realization that I came to accept.
I was a tool to everybody. Worthless until they needed me for something. Nobody cared for me anymore or tried to understand how I felt. The last people who did that were my parents, and I was blamed for their deaths.
My thoughts were scrambled by the sound of footsteps coming from the hallway. They echoed and were hard to ignore. This was because this was the only sound I heard all morning apart from the chirping of the birds at the window high above the bed.
Wherever King Dane had placed me last night, it had to be a secluded place in the castle. Or maybe the castle was just a big empty space with only him living in it. It sure didn’t look that way last night.
The castle had been filled with guards at every door and maids ready to do the king’s bidding. I was surprised that they were all obedient and loved the king. From the conversations I overheard from the maids last night, they were all happy to please the Lycan king.
The footsteps came closer and the sound of the lock on the door was heard next. The large pure oak door swung open next and King Dane Haynes, the Lycan king stepped into the room, a tall figure whose presence filled the room.
He was dressed totally different from last night and he looked more breathtaking. He was wearing a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up with a pair of black pants. His tousled jet-black hair was combed neatly and his icy blue eyes glared at me as he walked further into the room.
Behind him, a maid appeared with a tray of food in her hands. She looked so petite that she had been completely hidden behind King Dane. Her golden blonde hair was hidden in the maiden’s hat she wore. She looked timid as she stood beside the Lycan king but as her eyes fell on me, her face dissolved into disappointment and disgust.
As King Dane walked towards me, I rose from the bed still dressed in the lingerie and black robe. I was relieved. Maybe I would finally get to leave this room. I needed some fresh air.
In a blur, King Dane grabbed my chin and looked me in the eyes. His eyes were filled with rage and disappointment. He let go of me and I stumbled backwards almost falling on the bed. The maid who was behind him scoffed at this.
“You have bags under your eyes,” he said. “You didn’t sleep last night.”
“I couldn’t,” I said as I regained my balance.
“You have gone against my orders,” he barked. “And for your punishment, you shall not eat anything until I say so!”
I was baffled by this. I couldn’t understand what I did wrong, but there was no way I was going to question him. I still wanted to keep my head. He glared at me for a few more seconds before turning to the maid behind him.
As my eyes fell on the tray of breakfast, pancakes with bacon and eggs and a mug of coffee, I felt my stomach grumble. I held it and realized that I hadn’t eaten since breakfast yesterday. I was going to pass out if I didn’t eat by evening.
“Havana! Take the tray away!” He ordered.
The maid bowed and gave me a mocking look before she left the room.
“Please. Don’t do this!” I begged as I watched him head towards the door.
“You dare to defy me?” He asked.
I paused and shook my head.
“Good,” he said before stepping out of the room.
Lost on what to do, I sat on the bed with my hands on my face wondering how I got myself into this mess.
I should have stayed back. I shouldn’t have bought into the shallow offer he gave. And now, I was suffering with the consequences for my lack of comprehension.

It was sunset now and I was being led by the red-haired maid who had bathed me last night to King Dane’s quarters. After a whole day of staying in bed and writhing in hunger, I was finally summoned by him.
As we arrived at a huge dark mahogany door, the maid paused and knocked on the door. There was a muffled order to come in. The maid opened the door and ushered me in. I stepped in only for the door to close behind me.
As I gazed at the room, I realized that it wasn’t his bedroom but more of a recreational room. There was no bed, only couches, armchairs, a huge fireplace, and bookshelves surrounding the room. The room smelled of fresh oak wood and it made me wonder if it was the shelves.
King Dane, who was sitting on an armchair, his face buried in a book, looked up at me.
“Come here,” he ordered.
I gulped hard and walked up to him. He closed the book and leaned back on the armchair.
“Now you are staying with me, there are going to be some ground rules,” he began abruptly.
I stared at him in silence.
“Here are the rules,” he began.
“One. You have to pleasure me whenever and wherever I want. Two, you always pay attention whenever I talk to you. When I talk, you must listen. Three, every morning after bathing, you must lay on your bed with your legs spread out for me with no panties. Four, no m**********n. Going against all of these rules attracts punishments. Five….”
My mind drifted off after that. I was getting scared. I was panicking. There were so many rules. Even while I stayed with Alpha Finn, he didn’t have so many rules. Maybe I was wrong. I was wrong to come here with him.
Could I leave? The thought of running away crossed my mind again. There was no way I could do that. King Dane would capture me and the consequences for that would be worse than any other thing I could imagine.
I jolted in shock as King Dane appeared in front of me. His brows were furrowed, panning out the infuriated look on his face.
He grabbed my chin and my heart skipped a beat in fright.
His next words sent a cold feeling down my spine.
“Offense number two.”
