The day I Let Myself to move forward When will we say we have to move forward? I ask myself this question all the time. I don't know the answer, but I do know that when it comes to moving forward, there's no way around it. You have to let yourself do it. I've been struggling with this for a while now. I've been stuck in an unhealthy relationship for far too long and I've been feeling terrible about myself because of it. But then finally, one day, I decided that enough is enough—it's time for me to move forward in my life and be happy! Now that sounds like an easy thing to do, but trust me: It's not! Sometimes it feels like you're trying to walk through quicksand and your feet are sinking deeper every step you take. And then suddenly, when you least expect it (or maybe even when you expect it), something happens that gives you the push you need and makes everything fall into place… at least for a while! When I thought about the day I let myself to move forward, it was a question of self-improvement. It was not just about moving forward in a physical sense but also in an emotional one. I had been stuck in a rut and felt like I did not know which way to go. The idea of moving forward was terrifying because I was afraid that if I moved forward, then my life would change forever. I had been going through a rough time when my best friend asked me if there was anything wrong. When she asked me this question, it opened up the floodgates and all of the emotions that had been bottled up inside came pouring out. She listened attentively as I told her about how much stress and anxiety I had been feeling over the past few months and how much of an impact it had on my life. She told me that she understood where I was coming from and that sometimes it is hard for us to see what is important in our lives because we are so focused on ourselves and our own problems. She encouraged me to take some time away from everything so that I could reflect on what was happening in my life at present day (and past) and figure out what it is. The day I let myself move forward was the day I stopped letting myself be afraid of moving forward. I know, it sounds like a cliche, but it's true. The whole reason I even got stuck in the first place was because I was afraid of what others would think of me if they knew who I really was. That's right—I didn't even like myself! So, when will we say we have to move forward? Everyone has their own answer. For some people, it's when they've lost a loved one and they want to honor their memory by making sure that person's life wasn't in vain. For others, it's when they're looking at their own mortality and realizing that if they don't make the most of themselves while they're still breathing, they'll regret it forever. But for me, it was when I realized that the only way to make any real progress in life is to stop waiting for perfection and just get started already. You don't need a perfect plan or perfect circumstances—you just need to decide what you want and then take some small steps toward getting there. And once you do this enough times, eventually you'll realize: "Hey! This isn't so hard after all!" And then, suddenly… you can do anything! The day I let myself move forward, it was the day that I realized that my life is not over. It will never be over. I am always growing, evolving, and changing. And so are you! But sometimes we get stuck in the same patterns, doing the same things over and over again. We get stuck in our routines and habits, because it's comfortable to be comfortable—it's easy to do what you know than try something new or different. But if you keep doing what you're doing now and don't change anything, then your life will remain the same as it is today: same job, same friends, same relationships, same everything else. You'll never grow or learn anything new about yourself or about other people around you—and that means that your world will stay small and confined forever. I'm going to let myself move forward. I've had a lot of trouble doing this, but I think it's time. It's time to stop making excuses and get back on track. I want to live the life I know I can live, and that means taking responsibility for my own happiness and not relying on anyone else to do it for me. I need to stop thinking about what other people have done or haven't done, because ultimately, it doesn't matter—they don't owe me anything. The only thing that matters is what I do with my life and how much joy I bring into the world. So here goes: today is the first day of the rest of my life! Letting go of the past is one of the most difficult things we can do. It's not easy to forget and start again, but it is possible. You have to learn how to let go of your past, even though it may be painful for you. You should know that letting go doesn't mean forgetting about what happened in the past or pretending that everything is okay when it's not. Instead, letting go gives us an opportunity to move forward with our lives and be happy again. Letting go means letting go of our own pain and suffering so that we can put all our energy into living life in a positive way today (and tomorrow). Sometimes, it's hard to know when to move forward. We all have days when we feel stuck, and it can be hard to find the motivation to make a change. But if you're feeling like your life is stuck in a rut—or if you're just looking for some extra motivation—here are tips that can help you let yourself move forward: 1. Take a look at what's working: If you're feeling stuck, take a look at the things in your life that are working well. Maybe they're small things, like having an amazing cup of coffee in the morning or taking a walk after work every day. Maybe they're big things, like having an amazing job or being able to travel with friends whenever you want to. Whatever it is, try putting together a list of all the things that are working for you right now—and remember how good those things make you feel! 2. Think about where you want to be: This one might sound obvious, but sometimes we forget what our goals are until we stop and think about them again—and then suddenly we get excited about moving forward toward those goals again! So think about what kind of life you want for yourself: What do your ideal days look like? Life is a journey and sometimes we need to stop and take a look at ourselves to make sure we are on the right path. We all have our own set of values and principles that guide us through life, but sometimes these values can get in the way of our personal growth and happiness. We are often told that change is good, but when it comes to big changes in our lives, it’s not always easy to make them happen. For many of us, taking those big steps forward means letting go of something that has been a part of us for so long. Sometimes this can be something we have held onto for years or even decades because we feel like without it, we won’t survive; but what happens when you realize that letting go is actually the best thing for your life?
