Chapter 12: Dragon

“I hate you to guts!” I yelled and stormed out of the coffee shop, leaving him behind inside. He's getting on my nerves! I will never meet him again! Never in a million years! He's crossing the line that he can invade my thoughts. Darn it. I shouldn't approach that vampire in the first place so that I can't be in this situation. I sighed heavily while I walk on the sidewalk full of boutique shops. There were a couple of cars and some motorcycles parking on the side. The rain went away an hour ago, and all I can see is the blue skies painted with the orange sunset rays. There weren't many people here in Caspia City since some of them are inside of their homes already. Which I also sighed in dismay. Probably I should call Chase to pick me up. I had a long, rough day today. I pick my phone from my pocket and in the verge of dialing Chase's number, I caught a strange thing floating above the blue skies. Or is it just me noticing that long, red... kinda just looks like a big snake gliding through the clouds. Wait... I widen my eyes unto my realization. It's a dragon! But how can a dragon pass through Caspia? They should've fled because of the powerful barrier surrounding the city. Only the city alone have the barriers, the West and East Caspia don't have any. It was intended because the talisman books still live in the city. Oh gosh, I don't want to be involved again with such magic. Let the adults handle that one. I had a long day, I shouldn't stress this much because I'm only a teenager. I shook my head and looked away from the skies. A car passed by while I try to contact Chase to pick me up. I am standing on the sidewalk, arms crossed while holding my phone. That's where I realized that Mrs. Jonas' car earlier, and she just made a glance through her window. She must've noticed me here in a pair of pajamas... Oh gosh. I dropped my phone instantly, stamping my feet in annoyance. If only I can scream here and slap myself for a couple of minutes. Now how can I explain myself to her for tomorrow? I'm doomed. I sighed heavily, after I had kept my eyes on that vampire, everything became strange. “...And I hate it. I should've not meddled with his business in the first place.” I thought for a second while I stroll the sidewalk, turning left towards an alley that will lead me towards the East Caspia road, the one with many road bumps. I have to go home on walking. I don't want to call Chase, I feel like bothering him if I do. And because I'm afraid that he will know what did I do the whole day. Speaking of Chase, I've seen his friends again inside the big pub established on the wide alley that I'm taking. I wish I can go there and enjoy it, yet I don't have the energy to do so. So I only took a side glance before I continued to walk while lowering my head with a phone in my hand. I didn't even notice that I'm now walking towards the exit of the alley, and the unpaved road evident within my feet since I only wore flip-flops. Thick black flip-flops to complement my white pajamas. I tied my hair in a bun, walking straight while holding my phone with a frown on my face. The sun will set any minute from now yet I am still walking on this long road. I just wanted to cry out of frustration, or even, just throw rocks on the dead logs of the wide forest to let out that headache. But I can't, I just can't since it's going to be dark anytime soon. They must've been finding me at this rate. And now that I realize that I forgot to bring the lance with me crumpled my fist even more. “Why am I such a dumb werewolf!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, sighing exasperatingly. I pinched my forehead with my fingers, breathing heavily twice before I continued walking beside the street. Though there weren't many cars bustling on the road, I still prefer walking beside the road than on the road. I wish the Caspia Elders would consider the East land a newly paved road. It isn't easy to make your car adjust to such road holes. When I'm almost home, I placed my phone in my pocket. It was 6 in the evening and the stars shine through the skies like bright diamonds. The skies were pretty clear and I'm fascinated with it. Not until I caught something strange up above. The dragon that I saw earlier is here on East Caspia, roaming above the clouds. I didn't even feel scared, cause I thought that it is an illusion again made by Devon. But then when the dragon started to lower his fleet, I dash right away to climb up to the hill where my house was. Unfortunately, the dragon follows me with my every leap and step. I am running through the wide plain grasslands, panting heavily. I can feel someone watching me suffer, but I can't let that fear sink into me. So I fasten up my pace, running with all of my energy that I can give off. Still, the dragon followed me to where I'm heading, but as soon as I passed Chase's small house, the dragon stopped in its tracks and whirled into his roof instead which made me panicked even more. What's this damn dragon doing here in the hills? I dialed Chase's phone, almost tapping the call when he opened the door of his house, revealing him only in boxers. I flinched and hid quickly behind the big pile of stones. I peek carefully, and I saw the most absurd thing I've ever seen in my 19 years of living. The dragon transforms into a thick fog and slowly turns into a person in front of Chase. Chase didn't even freak out when he saw the fog. Did he have relations with this person? And, what is this dragon-turned-into-lady doing in front of Chase's home?
