“Relax, I'm not. Just watch and learn how to use this powerful lance of yours, sweetie.”
“As your guardian, I Devon Filosoir, demand you both, fire and earth, to erase her memories of me from this night.”
It gave me chills again, I remembered him summoning the elements in front of me. His domination, his affinities. I remembered how he carried me to my home and how he tried to cleanse my memories of him from my mind.
But still, I have to get him and expose him to the pack! He's a danger and threat to our existence!
I remember now. It was him! Devon Filosoir! The Strongest Vampire Prince recorded in history.
I thought he was dead, I thought he was dead long ago but I've seen him with my own eyes! And not even Madame notice him at first.
No no no, Madame will notice him very well, but why she doesn't even make a move yet? Is it because of his alluring charms? Is it also his power? That damn vampire even the audacity to put me to sleep in the middle of a fight?
He has to pay for all the damages he had done in the past, and I will grab him with my own hands. Not even leaving Mamita a goodbye, I dash right away to him. He was still walking far and far away from my watch, and here I am, trying to trail him from behind. Strolling, blending in with the crowd
I'll just gonna skip my spar class for this one. Hopefully, I would catch him right on time.
“Hello, Chase.”
“Ey Sydney! What's with the sudden call? And where are you? I thought you're inside the academy?”
He is going in the other direction and he's heading towards a lane full of boutiques. The road was pretty busy and people are bustling on the pedestrian road that we're both taking.
Damn, why does he walk so fast?
“I'll gonna ditch classes for now. Have to do something important. Please cover me up for Miss Jordan. Bye.” and I turned off the call. I just walked normally, not minding some of those people who noticed my outfit. And I saw him, looking outside an old boutique shop that sold hats and vintage accessories.
He stopped outside the boutique, this is my chance!
So I stood behind his back, heaving a deep breath, and tapped his back. You're not gonna get away this time, you vampire.
“Excuse me, Devon Filo– oh.” but when he turned around, I turned red and my palms sweat nervously as soon as he locked eyes with me. It wasn't him. This wasn't the man that I'm searching for! The bearded man only raised a brow at me.
“Got a problem, Missy?”
I freaked out and embarrassed at the same time. All this time that I'm following him... Oh gosh, “Oh! No no, I don't have! I... I thought– it's only a mistake! I'm sorry!”
But when I switched my gaze on his back, I saw a glimpse of the man I'm looking for, so I didn't waste my time and ran towards the direction that he's heading. He was turning left, taking a shortcut to the alley that leads to the Caspian Forest.
And I was sure that it is him. Bowl-cut hair with doe eyes and a big strong nose. I'm sure that's him. I am sweating and feeling heavy while bringing the lance with me. I stopped for a second to wear the straps on it as if it's a backpack, and then I continued following him through the darkness from behind.
I don't care if I will be labeled as a stalker this time, I want answers on why he's still alive. But maybe, just maybe I can use him for my reasons.
He is using his phone, using a navigator? What's with the use of it if he can use his affinities to track a place? He can even bring me to my home without the help of technology either.
The alley we're both taking is so long compared to some alleys here in Caspia City, my last walk was way back when I was a kid. This wouldn't take long, I know we're near to the wide forest of Caspia this time. Have patience, for those who are patient can be ensured with success.
When he suddenly turned around, I instantly hid on the nearest pile of trash beside me. And he continued his walk again. Following him is like following a celebrity who's out of the limelight for a long time. And I felt nervous when we first met. What would I react if I see him the second time around?
We reached the endpoint of the alley and the wide way towards the East Caspia is visible. He took a step forward to look at the forest closely, and I didn't waste any second.
I took my steel lance from my case, and slowly took a step near him. I raised my lance, pointing unto his head so that if he tries to defend himself, I can just dig this lance on his head.
“Devon Filosoir, you're not going anywhere!” I shouted, and to my surprise again, he wasn't the one whom I am looking for.
This, how is this f*****g possible? I was sure that he is the Devon Filosoir that I'm looking for earlier. Why did his features... Changed?
“Uh... Do you have a problem? And...” his eyes reflect too scared of what I could do with the lance on his face, “Did you know that... you're holding is dangerous! You could kill me anytime you damn beta!”
I instantly dropped my lance and my head in shame, “I... I'm really sorry–”
“I'm sorry about my girlfriend. She's enjoying too much on her lance.” a soothing voice welcomes me and the man in front of me.
I raised my head again, and I gasped when suddenly an arm rested on my shoulder. No doubt, his smell is amazing, a mix of strong wood and... lavender? Since when did a werewolf have this kind of smell?
Unless...
“Bro, you better watch your girlfriend. She might hurt someone with the lance she's holding.” he crossed his arms, eyes narrowed on me. He was irritated by the sight of me.
Both of them had the same style of clothing, but the only thing that's not alike is that the man in front of me doesn't have monolids. Devon has monolids, and so I confirmed it when I turned my head towards him.
“Thanks for your concern. You know, she's kinda adventurous. So I appreciate your words, did you hear that sweet?” he rubs my shoulders comfortably with his warm palms, his doe eyes meeting mine with softness.
I can't even form a word about what's going on!
