Rather than hire movers to transport my stuff from the storage unit and my mother’s house to my new apartment, I enlisted the help of family and friends. I rented a U-Haul and Darren, Leah, Adam, and I did the work. Thankfully, I didn’t have a huge amount of things to move. My mother let me take the full-sized bed from her house and a few other pieces of furniture until I had enough cash to get new stuff.
