Lyra’s POV “She’s gone.” “What do you mean gone?” another voice hissed. “The Alpha himself gave orders that she’s to remain in the dungeon." The silence that followed was heavy, almost suffocating. I could hear them, though I lay in an open field. I awoke shivering, my cheek pressed against damp grass. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of pine and smoke, and my body ached with a heaviness I couldn’t explain.
