"About you and me, I think it's about time something happened."
Later...
We arrived at Lua's house, and she flopped onto the couch. I chuckled quietly; believe it or not, we had walked all the way there. I was exhausted and sat down next to her.
"Lua, my bags are in your brother's car."
"They're not," he said as he entered.
"So where did they end up?"
"They teleported to your room," he said with a shrug. I looked at Lua, who laughed.
"That's his idea of being a gentleman," she said, noticing her brother had already gone to the kitchen.
"Oh... Why is he like that?"
"The king of the hill has to keep up appearances." I widened my eyes.
"He's the king of the hill?"
"Yes... He took over when my father died in an invasion."
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"Yeah," she said, lowering her gaze.
"And your mother?"
"She was killed by a stray bullet. But there's Mrs. Lúcia, my best friend's mother, who is a sweetheart. There's a party today, and I'll introduce you to her."
"Party?"
"Yes, every week there's a funk party in the community. Just don't be alarmed if things get a bit wild, okay?" I widened my eyes, and she laughed.
"Relax, it's rare for someone to get killed unless it's GB and his two i***t friends. And it seems he's in a good mood today. Come on, let's pick an outfit for you." I laughed as she pulled me upstairs. We entered my room, and the bags were on the bed. I smiled crookedly, opened them, and Lua was astonished.
"So many things, Mirella. Don’t you get tired of buying clothes?"
"No, the only fun thing I did was that."
"But now you'll have lots of things to do here with us." I smiled.
"Thank you so much, Lua. I don't know where I'd be without you guys."
"Stop thanking me. Show me something sexy you have, because tonight we're going to dance the night away." I burst out laughing and started showing my dresses and other clothes.
GB
There was going to be a party tonight, so I had already told the lookouts at the entrance to let people in only with identification, that way they could recognize who was coming just to spy. The life of a trafficker isn't easy; we have to be cautious and we don't know if we'll be alive in five minutes. That's why I had the duty to protect my hill and everyone who lived there. It wasn't just thugs; there were people who got up at five every morning to make sure there was rice and beans on the family's table, and I wasn't going to let that be destroyed because of some SOBs with a thirst for revenge.
I joined them, and VK and DJ were already waiting for me in my room.
"What's up, dude?" DJ greeted me with a fist bump.
"What's up? Everything set for tonight?"
"Sure, and the new girl? Who is she?" VK asked curiously.
"A friend of Lua. She's going to stay here in the community for a while, and I don't want any funny business with her, got it, you assholes?" DJ laughed.
"Already like that? The girl just arrived, and you're already head over heels?"
"Are you crazy, man? The girl had some issues and is staying here in the community for a while. That's all."
"Alright, I'm heading home because I've got my hookup guaranteed tonight," DJ said, leaving, and we laughed.
"And you? Have you found a date yet?" I asked Vinicius seriously, and he shook his head.
"No, but it's all good. I'm in the mood to keep to myself tonight."
"Wow, the third world war is about to break out. VK wants to chill?" I laughed, and he rolled his eyes.
"I'm taking off," I said, leaving. I went home, stayed in the living room watching TV until about 9:00 PM, then went upstairs to get ready since the party was at 10:00 PM. I left the room, banging hard on Lua's door.
"Let's go, damn it. I have to get there early." She came out of the room in short shorts and a top that showed her belly.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"Obviously, to the party, Gabriel."
"Like that? No way, that outfit's barely covering anything."
"Today I want to have fun. I want to show Mirella what the parties are like here, so don't bother me, okay?"
"If I see any clown hitting on you, I'll deal with them." She rolled her eyes and went to Mirella's room, knocked on the door, and she came out in a skirt and a top. Damn, she looked really hot. I stared at her with my mouth open, and Lua laughed.
"You're staring."
"Drooling, my a*s, Lua. Let's go." They laughed, and I went down first.
Mirella
I put on a really sexy outfit just like Lua said and posted a photo. At least on f*******:, I had to look good so I wouldn’t feel even worse.
"Bring on the challenge, baby. ✌"

When I left the room, GB was checking me out like I was a full-course meal, and I found his expression funny. For a gangster, he doesn’t hide his feelings very well. But I knew his type all too well—he just wanted to hit it and quit it. I lived with him, and I wasn’t going to fall for the charms of a hot guy like him. Stop it, Mirella.
After he denied drooling over me, he went down first, and we followed, laughing behind him. We got into his BMW, and he peeled out, arriving at the party, which was already lively, with heavy funk playing and lots of butts shaking. We went in, and GB went up some stairs.
"Where did he go?" I asked Lua.
"To the VIP area. That’s where they hang out with their chicks," she said, looking angrily at one of the guys. I followed her gaze.
"Who is he?"
"The sub-boss, my brother's best friend. We grew up together." I smiled.
"And it seems like you like him." She laughed, and suddenly a girl came running towards us, shouting. She was really pretty, with gorgeous curly hair and a killer body.
"Lua, you b***h, I missed you!" she said, opening her arms to hug Lua, and they laughed.
"Sther, this is Mirella, our new friend." I smiled politely, and she hugged me.
"Nice to meet you, Sther."
"Mirella."
"Where did you come from? Are you new in the neighborhood?"
"Long story," I replied.
"We’ll have plenty of time to catch up on that. Now let’s drink and get our groove on," Lua said, pulling us both. We each drank a catuaba and went to the dance floor. I’m a lightweight; one sip and I’m already tipsy. We danced down to the floor, attracting furious looks from jealous chicks and looks of desire from the men. We danced for a while until a blond boy approached Lua and whispered something to her. She rolled her eyes.
"What is it? Is GB already being a pain?" Sther asked.
"He said we should go up." I didn’t understand, but I followed the two. When we got there, there was white ice smoke mixed with the smell of cigarettes and a bunch of chicks grinding for the guys on the couch. Gross. GB stopped in front of us seriously, and Lua gave him the most cynical smile in the world.
"What's up, bro?"
"Just telling you two to chill with the booty shaking."
"Mirella was dancing too." He looked at me.
"I have nothing to do with her." I looked at him incredulously and rolled my eyes.
"Good, I'll go back to dancing." I turned my back, but he pulled me and whispered in my ear.
"Unless you want me to have something to do with you."
"I don’t want to, thank you very much." I went down the stairs and headed to the bar, ordered a Skol Beats, and soon Sther sat on the stool next to me.
"You’re asking for trouble," she said, laughing, and I looked at her, not understanding.
"Why?"
"The way you treated GB."
"I’m not one of his chicks."
"He knows that... Believe me." I smirked.
"Let’s dance." I pulled her, and she laughed.
"I like you, girl." I laughed, and we started dancing while Lua argued with GB upstairs.
It was already 3:00 AM. I went to the bathroom, and as I was entering, I felt a tug on my arm. When I turned around, it was GB.
"Are you crazy?"
"You’re the one talking to me like that. I’m the owner of this whole place and the house where you’re staying for free, so show some respect."
"If I have to pay rent with s*x, I’d rather live on the street."
"I’m not your deadbeat dad."
"He’s not my dad," I said, lowering my gaze.
"Be with me." I looked at him and laughed. I was a bit tipsy from the drinks but still conscious.
"I thought g**g leaders didn’t ask, they commanded."
"If you want me to treat you like the girls in the VIP area, just say so." I rolled my eyes and pushed him.
"Leave me alone, GB. I think I’m going to puke."
"Stop being dramatic." I ran to the bathroom and threw up all the drinks, then came out and bumped into him.
"This is the ladies' room."
“So what? I can do whatever I want here.”
“You think you’re something special.”
“You’re the one who thinks they’re something special,” he said, pulling me by the arm, and we went outside the party.
“Stop, you’re hurting me.”
“Be with me.”
“I don’t want to be another VIP area girl,” I said, remembering what he said inside the party, and he rolled his eyes.
“What a drama.”
“You’re rude.”
“Have you noticed?” I huffed and started walking down the hill.
“Where are you going, you crazy girl?”
“Home…”
"Without your key?" I stopped, still with my back to him, and he came up to me.
"I’ll walk home."
"I’ll drive you." He nodded without questioning and started walking beside me. When we arrived, he opened the door, and I went in, sitting on the couch and taking off my shoes.
"Why do you want to be with me, anyway?" I asked, looking at him, and he laughed.
"Are you interested now?"
"No."
"Then you don’t need to know the reason."
"Just tell me."
"Listen up, girl." He said, holding my jaw. "I don’t have patience for spoiled girls. I want to be with you because I think you’re really hot. That’s all..."
My eyes filled with tears, and I pulled away from him.
“I know that.” I grabbed my shoes and dashed upstairs. I went into the room, took a shower, and soon fell asleep.
