SOPHIA Abdallah has such a loud family. The men seem to be in a loud political debate in the room next to this, the women chitter-chatter about clothes, makeup and basically every other thing I dislike. And the children . . . God, the children. There’s more than a thousand of them scattered about the room. One minute they’re playing and lo and behold, the other minute they’re fighting. Then, some start crying, others start laughing. I feel like my ears are going to bleed today. What I like about my relatives is the fact that no one is bothered by my life. Sure, they like to try to put me down but as long as they don’t expect me to be happy, I’m fine. I manage to remain alive all throughout dinner and then everyone sits in the drawing room.
