SOPHIA I don’t how long I lay there thinking. I don’t know how I found the energy to get up from the bed even though my head seemed to have been swimming after the amount of time I’d spent crying. The cold water washes away at my body. I stand there with the after-effect numbness of pain. My bare feet rub against the tiled shower area, a chipped corner making a sharp pain shoot through. I don’t look down to see if there’s blood. I hope there isn’t because even though this time there was no blood and I was not taken against my will, I feel sort of the same way. Except for the fear.
