~Adrian My heart thundered in my chest as I stumbled out of bed, the dim glow of the bedside lamp casting long shadows across the room. My movements were hurried and clumsy as I tugged on a pair of sweatpants, my pulse quickening with every step toward the door. I swung the door open, my vision still fogged with sleep. Standing on the other side was Lanre, his face a mask of seriousness that made my stomach tighten. “Hey,” he said, his voice gruff as he held out a wallet. “Found this in the stands.
