I stood there, stunned, my face stinging from the force of Joanna's slap. My hands were still pressed against my cheek, my fingers gently rubbing the spot where she had struck me.
"How dare she?" I muttered to myself, my voice low and dangerous. "Who does she think she is, attacking me like that? I'm her husband, for God's sake! I deserve respect, not violence!"
My mind raced, my heart pounding with fury.
I stormed across the room, my fists clenched tight. "I'm not going to let her get away with this," I growled, my voice full of venom. "She thinks she can treat me like this, like I'm nothing? She's wrong.
"Joanna's going to learn her lesson," I continued, my voice growing louder and more fierce with each word. "She's going to regret the day she decided to cross me."
