Underneath His Sheets, Beneath Her Skin

673 Words
--- The more she knew, the harder it became to leave. --- The Morning After Ella’s body ached—in the best possible way. Every inch of her skin still remembered Adrian’s hands. Every part of her mind screamed danger. But her heart? Her heart was doing something worse: wanting him again. She sat on the edge of his bed, watching him sleep. No one would believe the infamous Adrian Kane looked so peaceful, so human, lips slightly parted, chest rising and falling under the sheets that smelled of her perfume. But Ella couldn’t forget the flash drive. The scream. The blood. Her gaze fell to the faint scar on his ribs. It was long, deep… like someone once tried to hurt him bad. She traced it lightly with her fingers. He stirred. “You touch me like you’re memorizing me,” he murmured, eyes still closed. “Maybe I am.” “Good,” he said. “Then you won’t forget who owns you.” Her breath caught. “No one owns me,” she whispered. “You came back, didn’t you?” He opened his eyes—and just like that, the softness vanished. The CEO was awake. The predator returned. --- 10:44 AM — Kane Dominion Headquarters Ella didn’t go straight to her desk. She went to the archives. Somehow, Adrian never noticed she kept a second keycard—Carla had made sure of that. She typed in the name: Maya Dren. Former assistant. Worked under Adrian for 14 months. Last recorded activity: Disciplinary leave. No reason given. No return. No resignation. No police report. Just—gone. She scanned the system, hands trembling. Then she found it. A private message string between Maya… and Carla. “He has cameras in his private office.” “Not for security.” “He keeps the footage.” Ella’s heart dropped. She felt her legs go weak. But she needed proof—if there was any left. She copied everything to her phone, then turned to leave— And stopped. Adrian stood at the door. “Looking for something?” he asked, voice casual. Too casual. Ella froze. “I was… trying to find old documents. From HR.” “At 10 in the morning? In the restricted server room?” His steps were slow. Controlled. “Ella, I told you not to lie to me.” He stopped inches from her, hands sliding around her waist, pressing her against the metal server shelf. “You’re not scared of me… and that’s dangerous.” She stared into his eyes, refusing to flinch. “Should I be?” “Yes.” And then—he kissed her. Hard. Deep. Possessive. She responded like she always did: breathless, needy, lost. “You’re a beautiful little spy,” he said between kisses, his hand sliding beneath her skirt. “Stop pretending you don’t love being punished.” His fingers slid inside her panties, finding her already wet. “Just like that,” he growled. “Lying, sneaking, and dripping for me.” He lifted her up—against the server wall—and entered her without warning. “Quiet,” he hissed. “Or the cameras catch everything.” That only made her wetter. She buried her moans in his shoulder, her body bucking against his as he thrust into her fast and rough, her thighs shaking, breath choking. He came with a groan, biting her neck like he wanted to mark her. When it was over, he let her down slowly. “I told you, Ella,” he whispered. “Once I’m in you… I never leave.” --- Later That Night Ella stared at the messages again, alone in her apartment. There was more. A second file—hidden. This one… had a password. One word. Only one guess. And she typed it. Adrian. The file opened. A video. The same scar… A knife… A woman screaming Adrian’s name… But this time, the woman—was Maya. And the scream was his. ---
