I switch the lamp on.
Dan Davis jumps awake and starts screaming.
I cross my legs on the couch and point the gun at him. That shuts him up. He stares at me in fear and confusion, his whole body trembling on the little bed.
"Who are you?"
I take off the mask and smirk at him.
"The nanny."
Shock and terror register on his face. He doesn't say a single word to me for five whole minutes. He just stares at me. And I stare back at him. Steadily.
