My heartbeat hadn’t yet returned to normal, still racing from the fear I felt surrounded by hungry wolves and Kim. I knew Kim wasn’t going to stop. The betrayal burned hotter now, knowing she’d once been someone I trusted. Someone who was supposed to be on my side.
I couldn’t stop thinking about her words, her threats, the way she’d cornered me with her wolves. Where did she get wolves as allies? Was she working with Nate? Was that where she was trying to drag me to?
