She had felt extremely relieved.
‘It’s over,' she told herself. 'It's all finally over.'

“Will you give me a second kiss then?” she pleaded softly. The corners of her mouth pulled upward into a faint grin as she looked at him expectantly.
He hesitated for a brief instant before nodding his head in affirmation. He stepped closer to her until they were mere inches apart. His hands gently cupped her cheeks as he lowered his forehead to rest against hers for just two seconds longer. He gazed deeply into her beautiful brown eyes, admiring her features. A faint blush dusted across her cheeks and her eyelids gradually fluttered shut.
