CHAPTER 4
Once the clan arrived Sylvia couldn’t wait to see the women elders. She told them of the experiences which had been going on around the cottage and asked the seers to pay them a visit to see what could be done. Also, she couldn’t wait to tell them about Amelia and Elisha’s gift and to catch up on old times. Sylvia took Amelia’s log with her and was sitting with the women elders, Ruth the healer’s wife, Tilly the herbalist, Rita and Rose, the seers. Sylvia was giving them the details of the log when a young girl with glazed eyes came up to Sylvia, “Beware of the giant,” then walked away.
All the women gasped, “Who’s that child?” asked Rita.
“I don’t know, but I’ll find out,” said Rose, who got up and followed the girl.
