Chapter 2- Crash landing

362 Words
I rush over to the control room window and squeal as I see it through the glass. I do a backflip in the non-gravitational air and float over to the captain who stops me before I crash into the wall. I giggle softly as he spins me around and faces me toward the big screen, showing the planet’s stats. “Woah. I haven’t seen anything that high since on Earth.” I squealed as I typed something into the computer. “With these stats, this planet could be our new home. However, I'll need a sample of the ground first.” I hummed as I floated up towards the ceiling. It was always exciting to find new results on promising planets. I pushed off the screen and floated over to the computer again to prepare us for landing. “Everybody prepare for landing!” I yelled as everyone strapped up into their respective seats. I had a few others help me with preparations as I made sure everything was perfectly sealed and locked before we descended. Once everyone was strapped up and I made sure we were all secure, I pushed a button and strapped into my seat as we quickly made our way over. Everything was going smoothly until we made it into the planet’s gravitational pull. The ship was suddenly hit by something, causing us to violently jolt as the ship spun off course. The screen suddenly flashed red, signaling that there was harsh damage to one of our engines. I tried my best to put us back to our destination, but it was no use. The ship’s engine was busted, and we needed to land quickly, or else we would die. “Everyone brace for impact!” I yelled as I switched the controls to manual and signaled for Clark and Luna to take over as I tried to stop us from exploding. I quickly unbuckled myself and made my way to the other screen when I heard the beeping get louder. I looked over at the window, and my eyes widened. “Incoming!” That is all I heard before we crashed, and I passed out after that.
