Chapter Nine RAFFERTY WAS DRIVING home that evening and was approaching The Railway Arms, when he saw Andy Strong pull out of the pub car park. On the spur of the moment, he slowed, and indicated a left-turn into the pub yard. He was relieved to see that the car park was almost empty. But it was early yet and there were likely to be few customers in the bar. It meant he should be able to speak to Vivienne in relative privacy—if she was there. She was, alone behind the bar, with no one within earshot. As always, she looked well turned-out, in a sleeveless green blouse with more than a hint of cleavage.
