/Eric/
I heaved a sigh. I moaned, "I didn't even do anything," which was completely untrue. "Robin was the one who gave her the boot!" she exclaimed.
"I don't care!" The yells came from the father. "From the moment I saw you in the delivery room, you've been nothing but a source of frustration for me!"
I let out a loud snort. "Yeah, okay." "Bye, Dad," I remarked in a mocking tone as I left. "I couldn't have imagined it."
I did a backflip out of my father's office before he had a chance to stop me, and then I waltzed out.
Surprisingly, I was able to get downstairs without attracting the attention of any of the security guards stationed there.
When I walked by, the blonde receptionist gave the same excited reaction that she normally did.
I greeted her by saying, "Hey, babe," while c*****g my head to the side.
"Eric!" She let out a scream. "Wait! Your father has just given me a call!
My eyes rolled in my head. "Yeah, certainly, Katie."
"Kathryn," she said, and she was right.
After turning around, I raised both of my arms into the air and shouted. "And what was it that he desired?"
She sucked on her lower lip. "You are meant to return to the upper floor."
I could not hold back the laughter.
I responded by telling her, "Fat chance, babe." "I'm going to get out of here."
Kathryn informed him, "Well, your father stated that he wants you to come to work beginning on Monday."
She became self-conscious as I glanced at her cleavage, which was exposed by a tank top made of black silk.
"But what if I don't?" I ask.
The blonde's face became pallid. "I didn't ask," she responded humbly.
I snickered.
I responded, "Oh, I'll come in on Monday," while simultaneously considering how I could most effectively irritate my father this time. "Don't be concerned."
My weekend was spent getting wasted with Robin and partying with every stripper within a thirty-mile radius of our house.
We had a party that was completely out of control, and I blew more than four thousand dollars in just one night on champagne alone.
Robin was at the height of his game, drawing women in close and kissing them before they had a chance to put up a fight.
Nevertheless, in spite of all of the drunkenness and merriment, I was unable to rid myself of this uncomfortable sensation in the pit of my stomach.
Throughout the entirety of the weekend, it felt like a heavy fog had been cast over my thoughts.
Typically, all I needed to feel good was a few good girls and a few good drinks.
On the other hand, I had the distinct impression that I was aware that the conclusion of my independence was drawing near.
On Monday morning, I got dressed by putting on some wrinkled black slacks and a polo shirt.
My father has always taken great satisfaction in the fact that he dresses impeccably when he goes to the office.
I wanted to make it very clear on the first day that I do not share his ideals.
I was aware, even if it was buried deep within me, that my dad and I had more in common than I wanted to admit. In the end, it wasn't really that I didn't respect him that was the issue.
On the other hand, I never had the impression that he gave me a chance to demonstrate my worth. I had to spend my entire childhood in his enormous shadow, and because of this, my father never took me seriously.
To him, I had never been more than a child; I was merely something that stood in the way of his aspirations.
I never would have said it to anyone, but Christian J. Alfred held a certain amount of respect for me.
I realized that it took a lot of guts for him to completely transform the consulting profession, which is why I admired him so much for doing it.
However, that did not imply that I would ever reveal that information to him.
I was ten minutes late when I entered my father's office, and I was grinning broadly as I did so while sporting my sunglasses perched atop my head.
As I walked by, I couldn't help but stare at the new lady he had hired to work for him. She was a mousy little blonde with curly hair and freckles, and I couldn't help but notice her.
I leaned over her desk and said, "Hey, love," as I greeted her. "I'm here to see my beloved old dad," I said as I walked in. You have any idea where he could be? "
The blonde scrunched up her nose in concentration. I couldn't help but frown; did I just feel anything between my teeth? What exactly was the problem? When I smiled at little mice like her, they typically fainted away in an instant once I did so.
I was perplexed as to where I had gone wrong.
After a minute had passed, the girl remarked, "I have no idea where Mr. Alfred is." "Today is my first day working here."
I rolled my eyes and let out a deep groan. I snarled, "Whatever," before turning on my heel and heading directly into my father's office.
While perusing a catalog of high-end office furniture, my dad was sitting at a massive wooden desk in the corner of the room.
He didn't look up until I was right in front of him, snapping my fingers and shaking my hips, but he still didn't pay attention.
"I'm here," I said. "What did you want?
