Kimberly’s POV He was just lying there. This wasn’t what was supposed to happen. He was supposed to get me out. To get himself out at the same time… But instead… I looked away from his lifeless eyes that tore themselves their way into my very soul. Everything that happened after that was one big blur. I remember the shouting coming from all around me, not sure whether or not I was surrounded by people or if the voices bounced with an echo off of the walls. I remember looking back and seeing Carlson rushing to my side, but it all went in slow motion.
