Chapter 7

I don't know what next happened, I just foud myself sitting and drinking water. Nakatulala ako sa kawalan, hindi maipasok sa utak ang nangyari.

"Lahat ng may tama ay nasa hospital na, kasalukuyang ginagamot." the police announced.

"How about the holdapers?" Darrow asked, who's sitting next to me while his eyes watching me.

I quickly bowed my head dahil nahihiya sa kaninang naganap. He's the one who catch me dahilan para hindi ako bumagsak sa sahig at hindi tumama sa kung saan. Siya rin ang nagpatahan sa akinm

"Naghihintay pa po kami ng update, Sir." ang pulis.

I heard him sighed, hard. "Make it fast. I want them to rot in jail." he said angrpuli

"Sinisigurado po namin, Sir." the police man.

Napabaling ako sa glass door nang matanaw ang pinsan kong si Gem na nagmamadali papasok. I sighed, I hope she won't tell to Tito about thima

"Gosh! Are you okay, Kairra?" Gem asked. "Kuya Aldwin and ate Zen are on their way."

"Please don't say to Tito." I plead quickly.

Umiling siya "Don't think that. How was your feeling? Your head? Sumasakit ba ang ulo mo? I will brought you to the hospital" kabadong si Gem.

I smiled at her a little. "I'm fine, Gem."

"Pero kailan ka paring matignan... your head need to check." pilit niya.

I shook my head as I caught the man beside me staring me intently. Agad kong inalis ang tingin ko sa kaniya.

"C-an we just wait kuya Aldwin na lang. I'm fine. Hindi naman ako nasugatan." ako kaykaniy

Patuloy siya sa pagkukumbinsi sa akin na magtungo sa hospital ngunit kalaunan ay tumigil na rin hanggang sa dumating na si kuya Aldwin at ate Zen. Kuya Aldwin look so angry.

"I know this will gonna happen! It's better when she's on dad vigilance." kuya Aldwin shouted after talking the police man.

"Hon, stop that! It's good that nothing happened bad on Kairra." si Ate Zen sa asawa.

I just bowed my head. They won't arguing if just nothing bad happened to me. It's my fault!

"Zen, this is bad." si kuya Aldwin pilit na pinapahinahon ang sarili.

"Hon, can you please calm down." ate Zen shouted. "It's better that she's safe now and others."

Pinagsiklop ko ang aking mga kamay. Nanatili paring nakayuko. I couldn't stop them fighting.

"How's your feeling, Kairra?" ate Zen turned to me softly.

I slowly up my head. "I'm okay, ate Zen." I forced myself to smile.

"How's your head?" she asked.

I don't know know why they always asking about my head but I just answer her. "Sumakit kanina, pero hindi na ngayon."

"Are you sure, hindi na sumasakit? If you want I will call a doctor to check on you-"

I cut her off while smiling a little. "I'm really fine, Ate."

"It's better na umuwi ka muna at magpahinga." she caressed my hair.

"Let's go home now, Kairra." anyaya rin ni kuya Aldwin, galit parin.

I sighed. I don't know how could I make him calm. He's really mad.

"May mga kailangan pa po kaming itanong sa kanya, Sir" pigil ng mga pulis.

"What the heck!? Are you all blind!? She's not in a good condition right now. Do it next time." si kuya Aldwin na hindi na makontrol ang galit.

"Pero, Sir-"

Kuya Aldwin cut the pulis. "Walang pero, pero!" his voice thunder.

"It's okay, kuya Aldwin." mahinahon kong saad.

Bumaling siya sa akin, pilit na huminahon. "Listen to me, Kairra."

"Kuya, just let Kairra. Para matapos na ito." sang-ayon ni Gem sa akin.

"Hon, calm down." si ate Zen sa asawa.

"I'm okay now, Kuya. I know It's only a few questions... Right po." baling ko sa mga pulis.

Pag-angat ko ng tingin sa mga pulis ay natama ang aking tingin kay Darrow na tahimik at seryoso parin akong pinapanood. Seems, he's thinking something deeply.

"Okay make it fast." pagsang-ayon ni kuya Aldwin.

"Mga ilang halaga po ba ang natangay sa inyo at anong mga gamit po miss para maibalik." the police man started.

I almost rolled my eyes because of his question. "I don't mind the price or money, I need the safety of my employees. I want the holdapers pay for what they did." deretso kong saad. "If that's your question... I think we're done." dagdag ko, medyo iritado.

What the fudge! They still thinking the money! I don't care about that things!

"Where's the holdapers?" kuya Aldwin asked.

"Nahuli na po ang iba, Sir." the police said.

"Make sure they all get caught and rot in jail for the rest of their lives." he said seriously.

"Yes, Sir." the pulis said.

Kuya Aldwin turned to me. "Now let's go home, Kairra!"

"But, kuya Aldwin-" protesta ko pa.

Binigyan niya ako ng galit na tingin "No buts let's go." now he's a real angry.

"I can handle it, Kairra." si Sheeme na lumapit sa akin.

"You sure?" tanong ko na tinanguhan niya. "Thanks... take care when you were going home." I smiled.

My cousins stand up while I do the same - but before I followed them I turned to Darrow who's still watching me intently. Seemed he couldn't take away his eyes at me.

I smiled at him a little. "Thank you." I then uttered as my heart beat so fast and loud that I couldn't understand why.

After the incident happened in the restaurant I spent my weeks at kuya Aldwin house. They didn't allow me to go outside or even in the restaurant because they say it's still dangerous. I'm sad kasi alam kong kailangan ako doon ngayon at hindi ko pa nakakamusta ang mga employees ko ng personal.

I know that they only concerned about my safety. I couldn't forget how tito Amer rat me. And tita Gemi tell that when tito Amer heard the news he quickly booked a flight towards here.

My good, what I have done?

"Kairra, I told you to relax there not to work or street yourself! If you will continue doing that it's better when you just go back here." tito Amer said angrily in the other line.

"But, Tito I'm fine naman po-"

"I don't care. I let you go back there to relax your mind. You don't need to work!"

I sighed and just bit my lips. Can't answer Tito.

"Hon, please, calm down. You scaring your niece." narinig ko sa kabilang linya ang pagpapahinahon ni tita Gemi sa asawa.

"It's okay, Tita. I was at fault po." I whispered.

I heard them both sighed. "Darling, I'm sorry sa naging reaksyo ng Tito mo. You know, we're just concerned on you." si Tita.

"I understand po. Mag-iingat na po ako."

"We love you and we really worried at your safety. Hindi mo mapigilang ang galit ng tito Amer dahil nag-aalala talaga siya. He quickly booked a flight back there when we he heard the news." tita said softly in the other line.

I bit my lips and hold back my emotions. "I'm sorry. Pinag-alala ko pa kayo." halata ang pagsisisi sa aking boses.

"It's fine darling, just please take care of yourself. Be safe."

"Yes po, Tita. I will."

"Kyros, really worried too." dagdag pa ni Tita sa mahinahon boses.

"He messaged me nga po, Tita. Sorry po at the same time thanks for all your concerns." I smiled, though she couldn't see me.

One time I tried to talk kuya Aldwin to ask him if I'm already allowed to go outside or even in the restaurant but it's so impossible because he's still angry. He mad on me until now. But I already say sorry.

"Kuya, please..." pangungulit ko sa hapagkainan.

"Don't start, Kairra." he warned, wearing his wrath face while continue eating.

I didn't touch my foods yet dahil sa sobrang pagpupumilit kay kuya Aldwin na payagan na ako. Apat kaming nasa hapagkainan para sa aming breakfast. Si kuya Aldwin, ate Zen, Gem at ako. We supposed eat silent but I'm here asking kuya Aldwin permission to allow me go out inside.

"But please Kuya, they need me there." sumamo ko.

"They can manage it." he declared.

I quickly shook my head. "No, they can't-."

"Don't force what you want." galit niyang saad at padarang na binitawan ang mga kubyertos na hawak. "What the next dangerous things you want to happened on you again?" he asked tryna controlling his anger.

"Ald, calm down, we're still eating." pagpapakalma ni ate Zen kay kuya Aldwin.

I sighed as I bowed my head. "Hindi ko naman ginusto iyon, Kuya." iritado kong bulong.

He's being over protected again!

"Kuya, allow her na." singit ni Gem.

I up my head to look at kuya Ald. "At tsaka. They already on jail na."

"Even." seryosong saad ni kuya Aldwin.

"Okay I'll just stay here, even I'm bored." malungkot kong tugon.

Gem tapped my shoulder. "Don't worry, coz. I'm willing to stay here too."

"Yeah." napangiwi ako.

We continued eating quietly. Hindi na ako sumubok pang magsalita muli dahil hindi naman papakinggan ni kuya Aldwin, may kaunting inis para kay Kuya. Maybe, I'll try next time.

After we take our breakfast I lazily did my daily routine. Nasa pool area ako at komportableng nakahiga sa sun louger, while sipping on my glass with fruit shake. Sa kabilang gilid ko naman ay si Gem na mukhang tulog na sa sarili niyang sun louger. Hindi ko makita kung nakapikit na ba siya o ano dahil sa sunglass niya.

I just face the pool and pouted while sipping on my glass, thinking if when kuya Aldwin will allow me go in the restaurant. I just sip on my glass because it's very impossible for now.

Napatulala ako sa tahimik na pool habang dinadama ang kalmado at malungkot na t***k ng aking puso ngunit mabilis kong naibaba ang aking hawak na inumin nang marinig ang maingay na tunog ng aking cellphone.

My manager is calling, Sheeme.

"Hi, K. Good day." the sweet voice of Sheeme greeted me. "Kamusta na, K?" She asked.

"I'm fine." I said even I'm not, I'm really bored here. "D'yan kamusta na?"

"Don't worry it's fine here. Maayos at marami paring customers gaya ng dati, they didn't mind the incident what happened here." she explained.

I sighed. "That's good then. By the way, I'm sorry for the past few days I wasn't there."

"It's okay, K. Kaya naman, just take and enjoy your rest."

"How's kuya Mario and Moira?" tanong ko, umayos ng upo.

Si kuya Mario at Moira ang natamaan ng baril ng mga holdapers. I don't know what their condition now because I didn't talk them yet.

"They okay na. Three days sila sa hospital bago nakalabas. Don't worry na." balita niya na nagpagaan sa aking nararamdaman.

I sighed deeply. "That's good. By the way, I can promise na makakapunta ako d'yan tomorrow. Kuya Aldwin didn't allow me until now." paliwanag ko ng may pagtatampong boses.

I waited Sheeme's respond but it didn't come. Sandali ring tumahimik sa kaniyang linya. Tinignan ko ang screen ng phone and still in line, seems Sheeme whispering with someone in other line.

I scowled. "Hello, Sheeme? Are you still there-?"

"Ah yes, I'm still here, K. Kailan ka nga pala ulit babalik dito?" she asked.

"Why? Is there any problem?"

"Ahh kasi, K." she stopped for a while. "Mrs. Mizelle Dela Torallez want to talk to you."

My eyes widened because of shocked. "Huh? Why?"

"I don't have any idea."

Napaihip ako ng wala sa oras. Mrs Mizelle Dela Torallez want to talk to me? For what? Is there have a problem?

"Do you think why?" I asked curiously.

"I don't have any idea too talaga. But sinabi ko sa kaniya na you're not free."

"What!" singhal ko. "She's a big customers, baka importante iyon!" gulatang kong saad, medyo kabado.

Sheeme laughed in the other line. "Calm down, K. It's okay, she's willing to wait naman daw." aniya. "Pero kailan ka ba pwede na? Someone missing you here." saad niya ng may boses na nanunukso.

"Huh?" napatanong ako ngunit binalewala na lamang ang sinabi niya. "I'll try tommorow. I'll try to talk kuya Aldwin again. I hope payagan n'ya na ako."

"Okay, wish you luck."

"Yeah, yeah." I whispered. "Anyway called me if there's a problem."

"Copy." aniya ngunit sa pananalita niya at parang may bakas ng ngiti sa labi. "Tsaka excited na iyong naghihintay sayo dito, K." she chuckled.

Napangiwi ako nang may nararamdaman kakaiba sa pag-pintig ng aking puso dahil sa sinabi ni Sheeme. What's wrong!?

"Sino naman?" tanong ko at nagpakawala ng dahan-dahang bugtong hininga.

She just laughed. "Basta balik ka na. Miss kana talaga, eh." Panunukso niya pa.

"What are you talking about? Sino ba?" naiinis ko ng tanong.

"He's asking me about you. If okay ka lang ba? May gusto sayo, eh." she said, didn't answer what I'm asking.

He?

May gusto sa akin?

I bit my lips as the strange beat of my heart continue. "Sheeme, baka sayo iyan may gusto. He just using my name." I chuckled.

Natigilan naman siya sa aking sinabi. Nanliit ang mata ko sa reaksyon niya. She got stopped because of shocked.

"Ohh really?" kunwari'y namamangha siya. "I don't think so, K. I hope makabalik kana bukas, he miss you na talaga." saad niya na sinabayan pa ng halakhak.

Napaikot ang aking mata ngunit may namumuo ng ngiti sa aking labi dahil sa kakaibang pagpintig ng aking puso. I know this fast and loud beat of my heart. I know this feeling! It's already familiar to me! I'm getting used to it!

"If there's a problem or you need anything, just call me. And don't call if you will just say some nonsense things, like this." galit galitan kong saad bago pinatay ang tawag.

Mabilis kong binalik ang aking cellphone sa lalagyan bago muling umayos ng pagkakahiga sa sun louger upang makapagrelax na, ngunit hindi ko alam kung magagawa ko ba.

I let out a one deep long sigh. This is it again, my heart beat faster that I couldn't control. Ang lakas ng kalabog kahit hindi pa ako sigurado kung sino ang tinutukoy ni Sheeme na lalaki. I know it's assuming to conclude but I want to assume at least for this time. I always want to feel this kind of feelings and I noticed that this man can only make me feel this feeling. Alam kong siya iyon kahit wala akong kasiguraduhan ngunit dahil sa bawat mabilis ng pagtibok ng aking puso ay pinapahiwatig na siyang talaga ito.

"Mr. Darrow Dela Torallez." I whispered his name, smiling like an insane while holding my chest.

I didn't thank him yet formally for catching me upang hindi ako matumba sa sahig. I think kung hindi niya ako nasalo ay tatama ang ulo ko sa kung saan. Though, I'm still thinking what he was saying about that we have past?

That words really driving me crazy. Wala pa akong sagot na nakukuha kung totoo ba ang mga pinagsasabi niya. Kung saan nanggagaling ang mga iyon.

Seriously, we have past?

There's so much question playing in my mind while there's so much feelings beating of my heart. And I think, I need to find out what it's all about.

But I don't know if I can be happy right now. Ngunit iyon ang tinitibok ng puso ko ngayon ang maging masaya dahil sa isang lalaki. Hindi ko mapigilang hindi mapangiti.

"Darrow? How could we have past? But seems it's true." I whispered to myself.

I really need to talk kuya Aldwin. I'll Force him. I'll kneel in front of him to show my desperation. The fudge! Of course I won't do it. Hindi naman kami siguro aabot sa ganon?

"Why are you smiling?" I heard Gem asked wondering.

I quickly shut up my mouth. Bumaling ako sa pinsan at nakita kong nakababa na ang kanyang sunglasses. Nanliliit ang mga matang nakabaling sa akin.

"Me?" I pretended, pointing out myself. "Smiling? Nope." iling ko.

She just rolled her eyes. "I'm not blind, duh!" pagtataray niya. "Don't worry I'll help you to talk kuya. Promise, this time he'll allow you na."

"Why?" napatanong ako.

"Anong why?"

"Bakit mo nga ako tutulungan?" mahinahon kong saad.

She sighed, seems having a hard time to explain it to me. "Duh, Coz maraming reason. Usto mo isa-isahin ko?" She rolled her eyes. "First, I'm bored na here, then trip ko lang? And I want to meet that guy."

"Guy?" taka kong tanong.

She rolled her eyes once again. "Like I didn't heard it?" she murmured.

"Whatever! Do what you want."

"Parang ayaw mo pa, ah?" singhal niya. "Mamaya kakausapin ko na agad si Kuya."

I look at her sadly. "I hope he will allow me this time. Gusto ko na talagang magpunta sa restaurant."

I don't know why but seems my feelings used to go and stay in the restaurant. Seems there was a part of me just wanted to stay there. Seems there was a good memories I left there.

"Wish me luck." she then winked at me. "Sheeme know that guy, am I right?" tanong niya.

"I don't know." I shrugged. "By the way how did you know Sheeme?" pagbabago ko sa usapan.

"Seriously, Kairra! Noong kasama natin s'ya sa bar you didn't ask? Then you asking about her now?"

Yeah right. I'm preoccupied that time. And I thought, Sheeme just came with us because she's with me at pinagbibigyan niya lamang ang pag-anyaya sa kaniya ni Gem out of respect. At isa pa kaya hindi ko na rin natanong dahil sa nangyari sa akin sa bar.

Maybe, I got preoccupied at the bar when we entered that's why I didn't ask her why they look already close to each other. But It's impossible na close na sila agad dahil sabay kaming dumating dito ni Gem galing France.

"Are you close to each other?" I asked.

"Kinda, her family close to our family." panimula n'ya, sumipsip sa kaniyang inumin bago nagpatuloy. "Her family is slightly business partner of ours. Kaya I'm wondering nga kung bakit manager siya sa restaurant mo? Her family famous in the field of business like our family. I think we started getting close to each other way back when there's have a parties." she explained.

Napatango ako sa kaniya but I'm still confused because it's seems Sheeme have a big part in my life even if I didn't know her better. Magaan na ang loob ko sa kaniya kahit pa minsan ay nagiging mapang-asar na siya ngunit tila sanay ako sa ganong ugali niya.

"I think kayo ang close dati." Gem added.

I scowled, didn't understand what she was saying. I looked at my cousin with my serious eyes. Asking if what she was talking about? We live in France, paanong dati?

Paanong close kami dati?

Ni Sheeme!

Pilit kong inaalala ngunit nablablangko ang aking utak everytime I try so hard to push my mind to remember something... something scenario that I'm with Sheeme. But my mind showing nothing! Maybe, I'm too young that time? We're still kid that's why I didn't remember now.

"I can't remember." saad ko, napatulala sa kaniya sa kadahilanang hindi ko alam.

That's so impossible!

Gem turned to me in a sudden moved. "Don't mind just forget." she smiled. "Let's just go in the kitchen. Cook for us." pang-iiba niya sa usapan.

I scowled. I noticed that she's acting weird now, again. Habang ako may pilit na inaalala pero dahil dito sumasakit ang aking ulo na para bang may pumipitik dito ng dahan-dahan.

But, Maybe it's only from the hot sunbeam. Mainit na din kasi dahil tanghali na. Hindi na healthy ang sinag ng araw.

"Oh, come on Kairra, don't think kuya Aldwin, I'll talk to him na mamaya. Just cook for us." nakapamaywang na saad ni Gem sa aking harapan.

She didn't know na ang iniisip ko ay ang mga salitang sinabi niya ngayon na nagpapagulo sa aking isipan. Pati narin ang mga salitang tila hindi niya pwedeng sabihin sa akin ngunit nadudulas siya lagi.

"Yeah." tugon ko na lamang sa kaniya.

I tried to lose it in my mind while I'm started cooking what my cousin foods want. My mind preoccupied thinking what should kuya Aldwin would be decision. I really wish that kuya Aldwin let me now, sa huling pagkakataon ngayon. I miss working in my restaurant. I miss serving. I miss interaction to the customers.

Kabado na ako nang sumapit ang gabi, though I already prepared my words to say to kuya Aldwin just to convince him. Gem will help me too. I hope he will allow me na and it will work na.

I really, really need go back in my restaurant!

"Why you two were too quite?" ate Zen asked while we're in the middle of our dinner.

Hindi ako nagsalita at tumingin na lamang sa kay Gem na nakatingin na din sa akin. We look at each other like we talking beyond our stare. I don't know who's kung sino ang unang magsasalita sa amin, I hope siya na lamang dahil kabado pa ako.

"You two, what's your problem?" si kuya Aldwin sa seryosong boses, tuluyang binasang ang katahimikan.

Tumuwid ako sa pagkakaupo, marahang uminom ng tubig bago nagsimulang lumunok ng makailang beses. Relaxing myself. Magsasalita na sana ako naunahan lamang ni Gem na nasa aking tabi.

"Kuya, just allow her." Gem started while comfortable eating on her seat.

She's so calm while I'm here, couldn't sit on my chair properly. I really, really want to go in the restaurant kaya sana ay pumayag na si kuya Aldwin. Seems my heart finding the air in the restaurant. My heart finding some presence that I could only feel in the restaurant.

Fudge!

What's wrong with me?

"Allow her what?" kunwari'y tanong ni kuya Aldwin.

Gem pouted on her sit. "You know... she's bored here at kailangan na si Kairra sa restaurant niya." mahinhin kuno niya saad. "And kanina Sheeme called, I think there's a problem." palusot n'ya pa.

"Really?" makahulugang si kuya Aldwin.

Gem nodded. I can see on kuya Aldwin face that Gem already convinced him. It's my time.

"It's safe naman na..." panimula ko. "Ta's you triple the guards in restaurant already." pag-iingat ko sa bawat salita.

Kuya Aldwin keep eating his food but I know his listening to me.

"Hon, just allowed her. She's not kid." singit ni ate Zen na sumasang-ayon sa amin ni Gem. "She can take care of herself."

Tumikhim si kuya Aldwin, bahagyang umayos ng pagkakaupo kahit nakaayos naman siya. Nararamdaman kong papayag na siya. This is it!

"Well..." he started. "Wala na akong magagawa. Three versus one?" he raised his brow while shrugging. "Just promise that no more trouble again."

"Yes of course." agaran kong tugon dahil sa saya.

He looked at me darkly. "Nayy, just promise."

"Promise." I said while smiling.

I'm excited!

My heart feeling excited too! I couldn't stop the fast beat of my heart!

"No problem na, Kairra? You can see na 'yung guy nag bumibisita sayo sa restaurant mo, though I can see him too tommorow."

Halos mapapikit ako sa sinabi ni Gem. Why she still need to say about it!? I'm not yet sure if this guy really visiting me!

"Bumibisita?" si ate Zen na nakuha agad atensyon. "Who's that guy?" she then asked curiously.

"Nothing ate Zen, it's just only imagination of Gem." I smiled at her.

Bumaling ako kay Gem at inirapan siya bago binigyan ng nagbabantang tingin. Naman, eh! pinapahamak n'ya ako. I don't really know who's that guy but swear my heart know it already I'm just pretending not.

"Be sure, Kairra." banta pa ni kuya Aldwin sa akin tuloy.

Bumaling ako sa tahimik na humahagikgik na si Gem, the fudge talaga! Isang irap na lamang muli ang binigay ko sa kaniya. I'm wondering if si Gem ba talaga ang kapatid ni kuya Aldwin o ako. He's more updated on my life than Gem! Duh! may problema din ang kapatid pero hindi niya alam? I'm not sure pala.

But I know Gem. If she have a problem she will just keep it to herself.

"Kairra?" galit na si kuya Aldwin.

"Sure, wala talaga." iling-iling ko.

"But I can't wait to see you with a guy, Kairra." tawa ni ate Zen sa tabi ni Kuya.

"Me too." Si gem sabay tawa pa sa hapagkainan.

Padarang na binitawan ni kuya Aldwin ang kaniyang mga kubyertos. "Stop that!" pigil niya.

At this point I want to thank him for stopping the two who's teasing me right now.

"Kj naman ni Kuya." panunukso pa ni Gem at nagtawanan sila ni ate Zen.

Tsk, magkasundong magkasundo talaga lalo sa asaran.

I just pouted and continue eating my food while my two cousin keep laughing. Masigla ako hanggang matapos kumain dahil makakabalik na ako sa restaurant simula bukas. I couldn't wait tommorow.

Naging mahaba ang gabi, masaya ako na pumayag na si kuya Aldwin. I understand him why he didn't let me the former day I tries because he's really concerned on me, on my safety. Sa tingin ko ay inayos n'ya muna lahat bago n'ya ako tuluyang pinayagan. He's very busy but he have a time to certain that I'll safe for the next day. I really appreciated him as my Kuya.

"Coz, sabay tayo tomorrow, I want to see that guy." si Gem, hinahabol ako patungo sa aking silid.

Humarap ako sa kaniya at naabutang komportableng nakaekis ang kaniyang braso habang binibigyan ako ng makahulugang tingin na may kasamang nanunuksong ngiti.

"You really excited, huh." aniya pa.

I just slowly rolled my eyes.

"Goodnight, coz." she said sweetly.
