I watched as the Dark Witch started chanting to remove Laxton’s mate bond on Bella. My eyes fixed on Bella as dark light rose around her and the tendrils of it poking at her started to withdraw itself. I felt Devlin suffering, desperately enduring the pain. Then Bella screamed and I charged towards her. But Caleb and Agatha were ready, they stopped me and told me that I couldn’t go to her right now. I disregarded them and flung them aside.
Devlin was hurting herself! I can’t let her suffer alone. I wish I can take over her hurt but we’re not marked. So all I can do is hold her for dear life as I watch her in torment.
Moon Goddess, let me take her pain please. Let me take her pain and suffering so she may be at peace!
