When I reached the fireside, Audrey was surrounded by the other ladies, chattering cheerfully. I really was not gone that long. But they seemed to be best friends now.
“Thank you for the meal, I fear we have imposed ourselves far too long. We will get going now,” I told them while hauling Audrey up.
“Oh no, no trouble at all. We love her. Why don’t you put up a night here and we will play host.” the brunette suggested.
“Oh could we please, Alex? It’ll be so fun and I am so tired from sleeping in caves and bushes the last few days, it’ll be great to sleep in a soft comfortable bed tonight,” Audrey pleaded as she pulled on my shirt again.
I made it look reluctant but that was exactly what I was hoping for. I will need to stay on to figure out how to help that person in the trailer.
