I heard whooshing sounds behind us. Knowing that it is Kate covering for us, I pulled Bella / Devlin’s arms and ran faster. Howls surrounded us and we paused to sniff the air. Werewolves were all around us.
Bella / Devlin: How come they smell now?
Alex / Maddox: Maybe only some of them were scentless.
Bella / Devlin: Looks like we have to fight our way out.
Alex / Maddox: Stay-
Bella / Devlin: Shut up!
Bella / Devlin broke away from me as the wolves emerged from everywhere. Their eyes reflected the moonlight, glinting evilly. A wolf may not be strong on its own but the strength is in the pack. When they attack as a group, they can take out individual Lycans. I growled and mind linked Caleb.
Alex / Maddox: Caleb, where are you?
Caleb: Trying to get to the rendezvous point.
